Good for big objects, slightly difficult for golf!
Created: 03/08/11
I got my Bushnell Yardage Pro Sport Rangefinder the other day, and used it on the golf course. It is all that is promised of the product. It gives accurate distance within seconds. It has a good sturdy design.. can withstand hard falls and bumps. The usability is good as well.. you click and it comes alive.. and then point at the target and hold the click down to get an accurate measure within 2-3 seconds.
It also does not require that much stability while pointing. Having a firm grip and supporting it with touching it to the eye, help it stabilize.
They do not advertise this model for golf, but have other (more pricey) models specifically designed for golf. The one shortcoming is the inability to capture small, moving targets.. like a golf flag!. The flag has to be fluttering with a good amount of wind to reflect the laser.. but if the flag is slump.. good luck. In such situations you take measurements to front, back and middle of green... even to the green at the base of the flag. All these are pretty accurate and help you decide on the golf shot. Ofcourse to do this, you need to have a clear line of sight to the whole green.
Overall a good product for distance finding. I think as there are newer models in the market, this model is getting cheaper.. so for a cheap price, if it shaves off 2-3 strokes off your golf game..I say its all worth it.

Bushnell Yardage Pro

I purchased the Yardage Pro because it was inexpensive, easy to use and compact. I only use it for golf and it does not give accurate distances on the golf range because you cannot site on the pin on the green. If you are thinking about buying one for golf, please think again. I do not recommend this model.
If, however, you are an avid hunter and want an inexpensive range finder, this one will suffice. I have been able to obtain good distance measurements as long as I was siting large objects like a deer. Anything smaller than a deer and your distances are not accurate.
Overall, I would not purchase this item if I knew what I know now. I would purchase the Bushnell range finder that is the $300 to $400 price range. This is a classic example of you get what you pay for.

Wild Turkey Hunting Aid
| Yes, I would recommend this product to a friend.

I purchased the Pro Sport Rangerfinder for use during hunting trips and have already used it during three Wild Turkey hunts. It works great for checking various objects around your "hide" to verify what is in shooting range. As the Bushnell user guide reports, it doesn't work well on dark objects, especially in low light. For example, I had trouble verifying the distance to my dull colored decoys but could easly pick a bright spot near them to get a measurement. I haven't actually used the rangefinder to measure the distance to a Wild Turkey because I check shooting ranges in advance. I have used the 4X magnification as a monocular to check out a gobbler that was out of range. When using it for this purpose, you have to consider the risk that movement might spook your turkey.

Rangefinder

super good ranger finder even works in low light and the priced with the Hunter in mind. The Bushnell 450 yardage Pro Sport Rangefinder is small and compact and comes with a carring case that attaches to your belt. This makes it real handy. If your looking for a great low priced range finder that will do the job the 450 is the one for you.

I bought the Bushnell Yardage Pro Sport Rangefinder 2 weeks ago, so far it has been excellent, very easy to use. I use it on my hunting trips and have had no problems at all.
Cons:: strap system a little thin, but works
would recommend to others that need a excellent laser rangefinder
