Movie synopsis
This British comedy series detailing the eccentric staff of a department store is a classic in England and has become a favorite import for American audiences. The salespeople, ranging from pompous snobs to oblivious idiots make shopping at Grace Brothers a rather humorous experience. Of the six episodes in this collection, only one has been released to home video before. Included are "Heir Apparent," "Closed Circuit," "The Erotic Dreams of Mrs. Slocombe," "Roots," "Sweet Smell of Success," and "Conduct Unbecoming."

Zany British Department Store Staff

I love this British comedy series that takes place in the 70's (check out those bell bottom men's suits) in a not so profitable London department store. The characters are engaging & the plots are very funny. You may have to become attune to certain British words -- like white fronts for men's briefs & vests for men's tee shirts -- but it won't take long to catch on. Mr Wilberforce Humphreys the senior salesman for the men's department is my favorite character and I was saddened to hear that this versatile actor died last year. I have been collecting all the episodes so that my husband & I can enjoy them often instead of the Sunday night show we get via Milwaukee public TV on our cable.
