I initially bought this for my lighting kit as part of a wireless flash system, which works awsome with a reflective umbrella and remote trigger. I used it on my Lumix DSLR and it produces the most natural looking skin color out of all the flashes that i own. It takes 4 AA batteries which makes it very heavy specially if its directly mounted on your camera. It works with a generic wireless trigger so if this is what your buying it for then by all means go ahead and buy one. The price of this "no-name" brand really attracted it to me, but dont get fooled by the low price the quality and feel of the flash itself is awsome. The ability to change the power level accordingly is a very usefull tool however if your batteries are weak then its rendered useless. The diffuser it comes with is sufficient if your shooting at a close range and indoors. The metering could be better but at this price range you cant ask for much. I would recommend this for all Lumix & Micro 4/3 cameras if you just need a filler flash but not if your going to use it daily. The only thing i didnt like about this is the wieght and the fact that it doesnt have a re-chargable battery pack, besides that its a thumbs up!

when i wanted a better flash unit for my pentax k-r i chose the yongnuo yn-460 as a more suitable unit than the standard flash.the ability to set the power level for any occasion so easily is a huge plus.it is not a heavy and is easier to use than units costing three times as much.do experiment with iso settings to get the best from it.but this goes for any flash unit.james

At first glance the Yongnuo YN-460 looks cheap because it lacks the LCD screens most flashes these days have. I think by designing it that way, Youngnuo has been able to keep the prices very low. The power that comes out of these flashes are amazing at full power. I find myself not needing to go beyond 1/16th power for indoor shots and that's through a softbox. It is extremely slow at recycling at FULL power, but at 1/2 power and down, it will refresh quite reasonably. The plastic shell is quite sturdy. It feels almost as sturdy as my Nikon Sb600. My only problem is the battery cover door feeling questionable and the diffuser panel that flap which arrived to me broken. Not a big deal since I'd hardly ever use it! I intended this flash to be used in a softbox or as a kicker light. It has an awesome optical trigger that I found myself using quite heavily. It has a swivel head very similar to the more expensive flashes. It has fully manual controls for all you strobists (it doesn't have a sync port though). All in all, this is a great second flash. I purchased three for the price I would've spent on just one Nikon sb400.

It's a really good flash for the price. If using TTL it's not a priority for you it's a very smart choice.
Looks solid in construction, and has a nice power output selection, fast recovery, two slave modes, and it's a realy 33 guide number.
Downside: does not have TTL, and zoom, but again: for the price it's very good choice.
