Yes! C-Groove Jennie is a winning B60!

Created: 09/29/09
I am a scientist by trade, and an avid golfer by recreation. I tinker with clubs, and have had several of my ideas put into production. So I was very pleased that Yes! came out with a putter similar to the classic Ping B60.

The Jennie has four improvements that make it a very good choice if you prefer a semi-mallet putter.

1. It has a higher mass than putters of decades ago. It swingweights (depending upon the length you choose) in the D and E range. Most manufacturers are going to heavier putters because of faster greens, and this C-Groove model is no exception.

2. The alignment fins (called bosses by Yes! marketers) frame the golf ball and produce a strong alignment aid. They also contribute to increasing the MOI.

3. The 304 stainless steel has a more pleasing sound/feel than the traditional 431, 17-4, 18-8 steels, or zinc used to cast putters.

4. The C-Grooves actually work; the ball does start rolling faster than traditional 4-degree loft putters.

The putter is easily adjustable for both lie and loft. The Winn grip is becoming pretty much standard for many manufacturers. Depending on your preference for lie, the putter clubhead will hang from 40-degrees toe down to almost face balanced. Off-center strikes travel well. It is a very solid putter with good audio and finger feedback. If you favor putters such as the Ping B60, MacGregor Lakewood, Scotty Cameron Del Mar or circa 6, Cleveland Classic VP 304, or Callaway Rossi designs, then the Jennie should be considered.
