I had a JVC AV receiver that quit after 7 years. I thought it was decent sounding. I no longer have a good opinion of JVC for sound because this Yamaha is astoundingly WAY better. Tight bass, crystal clear and balanced with 100 db signal-to noise. HDMI through connect and an HDMI front panel connector which I use with my HD camcorder to play back video. The picture and sound from the DISH box are also great through this Yamaha. Got a good deal too.
This is the first received I've owned. I connected it to a 7.1 channel in-wall surround sound system and paired it with a Yamaha subwoofer then added a 55" Samsung Smart television. We now have an excellent theater system in our new living room. Very simple to connect all the components and the sound is impressive. Now to learn how to tweak the system to its full capabilities!
The Yamaha RX-671 I bought is a great reciever! This is the first surround sound reciever I have ever owned and I couldn't be happier. It sounds great and has outstanding features like internet apps. and remote opperation from my Pc. The Yamaha 671 has too many features to list but needless to say I'm pleaswd with product.
This is a great receiver, i mostly wanted this for the silent cinema feature and it works great. nothing like surround sound in my headphones. very high quality unit. cant wait to get some speakers for this thing.
I previously owned a Pioneer receiver. It lasted a short time for me when it stopped sending video thru the HDMI. The clarity and sound effects of this receiver far surpasses anything I've ever owned. I've only had it for a month, so far I'd say you'd do we'll purchasing this model.
