For an item over 30 years old, this amp is great. The one I purchased was in very good condition and it performs flawlessly... a testament to the quality of Yamaha audio products and testament to they way they were designed and manufactured. Not a single LED light was burned. A great amp that goes well with older amps and pramps I own. Had I purcased a newer receiver from today's offering, it would have looked out of place with the rest of the components I have on myself. A great overall amp that does not sound too digital or digitized like most of today's 20-30 receivers.
i bought this hoping it could be repaired, i also bought another
one that was supposed to be working and isn't. i messaged the
guy and told him he should have listed it parts not working. he
said hey it's not my problem now. i took both of them to the shop and the guy said if he could use both to make one working
one he could do that. this one was sold to me listed as for parts not working. the guy was honest the other fellow wasn't
i've also bought two reel to reels sony tc 580s both were supposed to be working neither works. one won't do anything
but light up and that's it. the other one plays one channel.
i didn't realize ebay was where everyone sold their junk at.
i also bought two sansui receivers that need multiple things
repaired. i did buy a third yamaha m70 amp that is great.
This is an incredibly clean amplifier for 200 watts. I love the layout of the front with the digital meters. The features are nice too, you can contrl the volume for each speaker. Only downside was that you can't have all four speakers playing at the same time. You can only have either the A or B set playing.
I currently own 3 of these amps. They are great amps with unmatched sound quality. I highly recommend this amp to any audiophile!
I bought an MX M-70 mono amp, not the one pictured. I needed one for my theatre sub and it is fine. Nice round sound and completely quiet.
