Movie synopsis
Revisiting the teenage slasher movies of the 1970s and 1980s, WRONG TURN is a tense, suspense-packed horror film starring Eliza Dushku (BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER). When Chris (Desmond Harrington) is late for a job interview, he drives speedily through a backwoods dirt road, and winds up in a head-on collision with a group of teenage campers. As the cars are totalled, the group has no option but to trek through the woods and seek help. Stumbling upon a mysterious cabin, the unhappy campers soon realize they are in grave danger when they happen upon a mixture of grotesque oddities and body parts, soon followed by the return of the freakish inhabitants of the disgusting abode. The intensity builds as the inbred, kill-crazy cabin dwellers go after Chris and the campers, leading to some grisly scenes in the dense woodland, and a series of brutal, bloody set-pieces from director Rob Schmidt.WRONG TURN takes similar backwoods horror flicks like TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE and THE HILLS HAVE EYES as its inspiration, providing visceral thrills aplenty, and the requisite amount of dumb teenage characters. Never lapsing into self-parody, the film should appeal to older horror movie fans keen to revisit the movies of their youth, and younger fans eager to witness some modern-day stalk-and-slash mayhem!

Wrong Turn

Review For: Wrong Turn (DVD, 2003, Dual Side; Lenticular)

I really enjoyed this movie. Many horror movies made nowadays are crappy, but this is not one of them.

The movie starts out with Chris (Desmond Harrington), who is late for an interview. He needs to take a shortcut since there was a highway accident. He finds a shortcut through a dirt road and ends up hitting a car. No one was injured, but both cars are totalled. Two of the teens stay behind, while the other four decide to walk down the road to see if they can find a house with a phone. They manage to find a cabin, but soon find out that they are in danger when they find strange things around the house, and finally find body parts. The inhabitants of the cabin come back before the four teens can leave the house. So they have to hide. The teens are able to leave after the inhabitants fall asleep, but one awakens and they begin hunting the teens through the woods.

The reason for the rated R rating is because of the amount of gore that you see in it.

The acting in this movie is great, they really picked some great actors and actresses. Among them are: Eliza Dushku, Desmond Harrington, and Kevin Zegers.

If you are itching for a good horror movie, then check this one out!

Finally A Great Slasher Flick!

Not since "Texas Chainsaw Massacre", "Friday The 13Th" and "A Nightmare On Elm Street" has a slasher flick been able to scare me silly..This one did it..plus I love the characters in this film no over the top sex crazed teenagers..for once a real engagement and future wedding is being talked about! You end up caring about what happens to these teens..a young Man is late for his job interview..he crashes his car into a stranded vehicle full of teens no over the top cursing matter of fact one young Man in this flick acts mature beyond his years..as they search for help in the desolate woods surrounding them they soon realize what happened was no accident..but why? the answer will chill you to the bone, as they meet up with three inbred brothers their world takes a drastic turn for the worse..who will survive? Could the answer be kill or be killed? See for yourself, but be sure you visit the potty before you slip this masterpiece into the dvd player..I give this 5 out of 5 bars!

Wrong Turn (2003, DVD)

Review For: Wrong Turn (DVD, 2003, Dual Side; Lenticular)

One jerk said this review was not helpful because I compared it with Hills have eyes and did not give credit to the orig 'hills have eyes' of 20 years ago. GIVE ME A BREAK! OK, with that past us, here's my take on a great movie "Wrong TURN':

I have become lenient with thrillers in the last decade. A good one is truly hard to write. This movie gets a '4/5 Good' rating. The story was good and the cast and acting excellant. And it was done without graphic sex scenes (usually never necessary, and unrelated to the film but needed as a demand to a film for filler purposes for under achieving horrors)This movie was NOT under achieving! It won't win awards but will please the 'Thriller / horror' fan as it stands out and above so many 'clunkers' that have come out in the last 2 years. A sequil to this would be most interesting and probably would make money but like so many other sequils, it might fall short of the first film. Only Saw 1 and Saw 2 so far have successfully accomplished this feat. Wrong Turn has a fighting chance to join and rank in this catergory If they do it RIGHT. Sequil probably WILL need a sex scene! Seeing 'Dushku' in the buff with her hero from the first film wouldn't be so terrible anyway! Fast , exciting and scary (without providing spoilers!) GO SEE THE FILM / BUY IT!! (-:

One of my All-time Favorite Slasher Films!!!

Wrong Turn is scary and full of suspense. It still creeps me out to this day!!!

A great cast and amazing make-up/costume design make this movie great. I saw it in theatres and was on the edge of my seat the entire time. The movie has a chilling effect, it'll make you think twice about going into the woods.

The cast of inbred, murderous brothers is great. The make-up and costume design is spot on, and each actor brings their own persona to their character. This film has it all horror-wise.

Final Verdict:

5/5

Rent or Buy?: This is one of those slasher films you must have, it offers so much for everybody watching. One of my all-time favorites.

IF YOU FIND THIS REVIEW HELPFUL PLEASE REMEMBER TO VOTE. Thank you.

One of the better in the genre.,

Review For: Wrong Turn (DVD, 2003, Dual Side; Lenticular)

As improbable as this story is, it is one of the better ones along this story line.
Teens take a short cut, crazy cannibalistic family in the woods etc.etc.
Of course it does help that Eliza Dushku (Buffy, the vampire slayer)is the star of this flick.....If you like this type of movie it is a must see.....BIG_KAHUNA
