There are many guides and "how to"s on home-based businesses but few prepare one in advance with the financial worksheet/analysis this book provides and it's budgeting guidelines; and none, save another Christian book, prepare one to listen to God's call to a woman's heart to "come home" even while she works. The financial worksheet was the best in helping me see how much it was costing me to work outside the home - imagine: we PAY to work so we can earn money - just to PAY to work some more. It's insane!
Ladies, if your heart is calling you "home" and God's voice is the leading Caller, this book will encourage you, help you prepare for it in advance or assist you right where you are if you're already there due to other circumstances (like I found myself to be in). The author shows you how to "schedule work around your life, instead of life around work."
Got a spouse who's not convinced? Major life style changes scaring you? If you're a Christian woman there are Christian principles in Scripture to put to use. The gentle, quiet spirit who fearlessly prays for God's direction WILL find His guidance and His peace as you make the transition towards "home". The author is the founder of "Transition Home", a web-based and workshop ministry and the senior editor for P31 Woman (Proverbs 31).
The voice of experience will share with you how to balance life at home with the family along with a home-based business, how to avoid some common pitfalls, and watch for the little things (achievements!) that are sure to be something to celebrate.
I love this book! If you're a Christian woman who desires to "come home", who hears God calling you to be with the family - no matter how old you are or how old your children have become (mine were all grown before this book came along) - or if you've never had children yet your heart's desire is to be a Godly homemaker to your spouse - if you want and need the prinicples of Scripture to be a Godly, prudent, work-at-home-wife/mother/grandmother, then this book is for you, as well.
