Wing Island (Wii, 2007)

This is a game that will be enjoyed by younger kids to adults. It looks like it will be cheesy and easy, but it is anything but. It is aimed at mostly older, I'd say difficulty wise 10+ kids all the way to adults. There i no violence or bloodshed making it a great family game. You pilot a squadron of old bi-planes around a series of islands in "Story Mode", accepting and completing challenges before you can move on to the other islands. The point is to complete tasks and earn money and experience. Money allows you to upgrade your planes, all the way to buying newer and better models. The games look's like it will be easy, until you play it for the first time. I would recommend waiting until the price drops or buying it gently used like I did. It is still $29.99 and up in stores, I purchased mine on ebay for $5.99 plus shipping, an excellent price for a newer game still being carried at Best Buy and Target. I would wait until it drops into the $19.99 range or lower if you want it brand new or too rent it first and play it and decide for yourself.

Wing Island is a game that is not for everyone. but if you are someone only expecting 2-3 hours to complete a game then this could be your game. the game starts off with a simple story, that has even more simple levels and graphics. and some of the most frustrating controls, though movement is easy things like flight formation and maneuvers can be annoying and devastating, the controls are the biggest problem with the game. a majority of the missions are chores as in taking boxes from point A to B, finding cows, flying threw rings,etc. if you enjoy taking out the trash and mowing the lawn this could be your game. there are much better games out there in this genre, such as Pilotwings for the Snes And N64, Blazing Angels for the Wii, and Sky odyssey for the PS2.

at least give it a rent before purchase.

Excellent flying game for the Wii. The game makes full use of the Wii Remote and Nunchuck for a very realistic flying game. The story line of the whole game is kind of dumb (birds that fly planes, don't they already fly?), but the game play is awesome. Fly all different types of missions like delivering cargo, putting out forest fires, and finding and photographing different things. Many different planes to purchase as well as many add ons for the planes you have. Non violent game, great for any kids (and adults).

Very cool game to play. controls are simple and the game is overall pretty fun to play. I bought it because it sounded fun to fly, I was right!

I thought it would be more adult action based, but it's definitely a kids game and probably amusing for the 8-12 age bracket. Easy to use, although I could imagine even a youngster getting bored with it fairly quickly.
