| For those discovering the epic bestselling Dark Tower series for the first timeand for its legions of dedicated fansan immensely satisfying stand-alone novel and perfect introduction to the series. Beginning in 1974, gaining momentum in the 1980s and coming to a thrilling conclusion when the last three novels were published in 2003-2004, the Dark Tower epic fantasy saga stands as Stephen King's most beguiling achievement. It has been the basis for a long-running Marvel comic series. Now, with The Wind Through the Keyhole, King has returned to the rich landscape of Mid-World. This story within a story within a story finds Roland Deschain, Mid-World's last gunslinger, in his early days during the guilt-ridden year following his mother's death. Sent by his father to investigate evidence of a murderous shape-shifter, a "skin-man," Roland takes charge of Bill Streeter, a brave but terrified boy who is the sole surviving witness to the beast's most recent slaughter. Roland, himself only a teenager, calms the boy by reciting a story from the Book of Eld that his mother used to read to him at bedtime. "A person's never too old for stories," he says to Bill. "Man and boy, girl and woman, we live for them." Sure to captivate the avid fans of the Dark Tower epic, this is an enchanting introduction to Roland's world and the power of Stephen King's storytelling magic. | |

As with my last review, I have yet to read this book.
I purchased it because I love the Dark Tower Series, as well as any stories by Stephen King.
I own the rest of these, and I am reading them in order again, but with this between Wizard & Glass and Wolves of the Calla.
The book was brand new. I also got it for a great price.
A great book from a great series from a great author. The wind through the keyhole is a terrific story about Roland's early adventures. If you have read the Dark Tower series, you should read this and if you didn't, you should read that too.
It was a lot of fun going back to Rolands world. I have missed these characters very much. This book is for anyone who loved The Dark Tower series. If you have not read any of the books proir, you might be a little confused who the characters are only briefly. This is a story within a story. Great fun!!
A wonderful trip back into the world of the Gunslinger. Mr. King tells the story in a way that seamlessly merges with the original series, yet adds another entire novels worth of enjoyment. A "must-read"for anyone who enjoyed the Dark Tower novels. I truly hope that he will do this again. King is a Master Wordslinger and this novel reflects that skill.
I purchased this as a gift. I was told it was a story within a story, and that it was awesome. Loved the book. was very happy with it. Know the Dark Tower books? Add this one to the collection!
