| Finally, a sequel has come for one of the PlayStation's first RPGs with WILD ARMS: 2nd Ignition. The game features a new story and cast of characters, this time led by a mysterious person named Ashley. The story spans various locations and dungeons around the world, offering varying graphical and musical styling. The visuals remain as the same type as the first game: there is a ¿ perspective view that looks down on the characters, something unique from just about every other RPG available. The backgrounds appear as 3D polygons, though each of the characters are sprites, with plenty of animations to make their motions fluid and smooth. The battle system is a slow-paced turn-based affair, letting the player have plenty of time to think over each move. WILD ARMS: 2nd Ignition offers gameplay that mixes the classic RPG style with other contemporary games, and a graphics system that no other game can match. | |

I love the wild arms series and I own all of them except this one as it was only sold in America. This game is as good as I hoped it would be and I would recommend this game to any rpg fan. This all the great elements that make a great game e.g Characters, solid game play, funny jokes and great combat system.
Wild Arms 2 was one of the greatest Playstation games I ever played. The story is actually rather engrossing (albeit it has certain moments that could have been improved, but hey there aren't many games that don't!), and the graphics are well done (although the battle scenes are somewhat choppy); a couple of things, however, that prevented the highest ranking here, is because some of the dialogue could have been improved (although it isn't as bad as hal-jordan made it out to seem), however it is not confusing. And the fact that you can't find any towns until you have been told about it is rather irritating; however, outside of these few downfalls, the story line is rather gripping, the side quests make the game worth exploring, and overall it is a must-own if you have a Playstation system.
Wild Arms 2 was one of the first RPGs I ever played, and I found it to be amazing!
The soundtrack is one of the best you'll hear, the characters are unique, the story line is almost one of a kind, and the end will surprise you.
However, the Japanese to English translation is a bit choppy, so there may be parts that confuse you, but they all fit together and you'll understand it in the end.
There are some parts of the game that have room for improvements, but then again, what game doesn't?
If you want to go back to old school JRPG, this is the game for you. I played nearly all the Wild Arms series and love the challenges and side quests. Because it is old-school, the graphics are primitive, but the game story is riviting. Also you only use the arrow buttons to move. But-this game will last a long time and is very enjoyable!
Played this game when it was first released. but i remember it being a great sequel and a great rpg game.
