Older Hard Drives with High Demand and High Cost

These drives worked great. They were Brand New never used. I formatted them and installed on various Apple iBooks, Powerbooks, and other older models. These drives are excellent and have great storage capacity but in the end they are not worth purchasing. They are older and probably not manufactured anymore. They cost way more than smaller, faster, more modern drives and it can be difficult to find a good price on them.

If you do manage to find a good price you can give an older computer a new lease on life. With a Western Digital Hard Drive you get extended storage space and confidence in a name brand product. All in all I was pleased with the deal I found, $50 per drive. But I would hesitate to purchase them for any more expensive.

Great value for your money ! Good product !

Purchased this hard disk drive as a replacement for a Toshiba Satellite P25-S520 notebook. The original hard disk drive failed and a replacement HDD with the same storage size (80GB) as the original, cost the same as a (160GB) that was available on eBay. Needless to say, bought the Western Digital Scorpio Blue WD1600BEVE HDD (160GB twice the capacity as original) and installed the drive with no issues. Performed a SMART test on the drive with no issues noted. Just an added note, Be careful when installing notebook IDE hard drives. The IDE connector on the hard drive has exposed pins. Be careful not to bend the pins and re-install adapter and pin jumpers if required and provided with original hard drive. Also, being that replacement drive was new but dated, was able to update warranty through Western Digital Support. I have experience with other Western Digital hard drives and I am very satisfied with their products.

Great drive with lots of storage.

This drive really brought this old notebook computer to life. It is fast and quiet and easy to replace. I recommend this product to those who need to get more life out of their computer and it easily extended the storage well beyond the 40 gig drive that went bad. Some said that this size drive wouldn't work on this old computer (Dell Inspiron 6000)but it worked flawlessly on windows 7. Thanks to others who reviewed it and assured me that it would work.

Dependable hard drives

WD Scorpio series are certainly dependable hard drives. They are well built and will last forever. There is not much really to say about these, more than they are an excellent choice to consider.
