Great item, outstanding value

Yes, I would recommend this product to a friend.

I purchased this to replace the original drive that came with my Toshiba Satellite notebook because I'd managed to murder it. This one is twice the size of the original. I love having the ability to save many movies on my hard drive so that I can take them with me without having to drag a huge case of DVDs around. It performs well, the speed is quite satisfactory, and I'm very happy with it. The only improvement would be if someone would make larger capacity internal hard drives for notebooks with the OEM depth of 9.5mm instead of the 12mm most of the 1TB and all of the larger capacity (> 1TB) drives are.

WD 2.5" 1TB Scorpios are the way to go for intenal/external storage

Yes, I would recommend this product to a friend.

After purchasing 2 WD Velociraptor (600GB & 1TB), I was comfortable purchasing this drive. So far so good. Mainly I use it for storage purposes. It's rock solid, fast and responsive, and it's miniature compared to its 3.5" counterpart's form factor which makes it even more mobile. In combination with my enclosure, I have no worries about it crashing.

Excellent! Using it already to store all my data and mp personal collection of dvds ;)it works a treat quiet no heat issues and silent! Would happily recommend one to a friend and family member if they ever wanted a hard drive to store or use for their pc :D

Fantastic value HDD for portable enclosures! Fast and quiet!

I purchased this product as my WD My Book was on it's last leg and I could tell it was about to die and wanted to try a smaller form factor than the traditional 3.5" external drives. Coupled with a Oyen Digital Mini Pro, this little beast is quicker than the old My Book I had (both running at 5400 RPM). This drive is getting me a throughput of ~75MB/s connected through Firewire->Thunderbolt adapter for my rMBP and is almost 25MB/s faster than my old WD My Book! Overall, very satisfied and would purchase again.

Good value, excellent quality

This is an excellent product that I will not hesitate to incorporate in to any of my customer's systems. Currently this disk is being used for supplemental storage in an Ultrabay hard drive caddy on my ThinkPad T61 notebook. It works well with my system and Linux.
