Up front I have been playing for over 35 years and have owned many, many amps..some good.. some well, let's say I am glad they are gone. One of those I let go was Vox AC15CC1. It was OK but even with speaker changes and all the mods made it was still, middy, 1 dimensional and not exciting. The new AC15C1 however, is a real gem. The new construction in and out (MDF aside ...dont make a big deal of of MDF.. it is OK)is excellent and the Celestion Greenback along with the new circuitry is a winner. I presently own a Divided by 13 SJT 10/20, Orange AD15, Stulze, Egnater Rebel/Tweaker, this new Vox and others.
This is really a great amp and keeps great company with these and other amps. Works well with a USTele and also a Gretsch 6128 and the new design takes pedals really well. The top cut is ideal for taming those nasty overdrive/disto pedals. You can tie the Normal and Top Boost channels together and blend them for a great sound. I made all of the mods for "bright cap" etc, but in the end I took them out as this amp is just fine stock. Even the Chinese tubes sound good. (I tried JJ's and then Mullards in the ouput and settled on the JJ's across the board but the China's are very good). Compared to my $$$$ Divided by 13, this amp is an INCREDIBLE value. Vox is going to sell a million of these....

I purchased the JMI JM15 Twin in Fawn/biege actually with the blue alnico speakers. I got it used so very lucky. If you want a new 1962 AC15 Twin only without the 60 years of dust, this is what you buy. This is a Jennings Musical Instruments British made amp. You cant imagine how great this sounds. It isnt a Chinese made copy, it's the real thing being made in England. JMI invented Vox. I wish I could just sit and play my '55 strat relic all day thru this. Buy one!

Vox 1996 AC-15 re-issue. Made in UK. Vox Bulldog speaker. The amp is every bit the amp described in the many reviews I was able to find via Google. Nice variety of quality tone, at any volume up to it's capability. A bit of a hassle to get to the tubes, but WTF. It smells bitchen, it works bitchen, it sounds bitchen. Oh, and it looks bitchen.
