After searching and watching for weeks I purchased this unit as an open box product. I received it in perfect condition with original packaging, all manuals and accessories. Within minutes I had it set up and working with my HD cable hookup. The picture is great, sound is pretty good for a flat screen too. Plenty of connections for different setups, which is nice to have. Drawbacks are that the TV is slow to change channels & sometimes powers off at strange times when using the cable "universal" remote. Overall I am pleased with my purchase and would buy this or a comperable Vizio if the price is right.
Its a great tv for the price.. the sound has some problems you have to tinker with.. and my remote control sensor was bad on my tv.. It wasn't worth hassling to me.. I got great picture quality and decent sound..
After reading a lot of bad reviews of this unit, I was skeptical. When I turned the TV on, I was simply shocked: the picture quality is far beyond my expectations: the screen is vivid and actually really bright, the sound is all right (if one have the correct set-top box or cable-box, the True sound features are garbage: leave them off, use a surround system if want a hi-fi sound) and the usual features are all present. The remote is so-so: seen better, but it works, channel surfing is a little sluggish, but not that bad (there is no 5 seconds lag as someone stated, that unit must be faulty), I only experienced a longer wait (3-4 seconds) when switched from one input to another with different resolution.
For the price a great tv. Big enough to be a big screen but small enough to fit in any room. Since it has newer technology many images have a 3d effect and it has the newer energy rating. Set has 4 hdmi imputs which helps but switching between them causes a lag and sometimes you must channel through the inputs once for the set to acknowledge a signal on am input different from when the set was turned on. I dont like the fact that the vizio symbol at the bottom is always lit. The anti-loud commercial feature really is ineffective since it only prevents sudden rises. If you have a sudden low sound you still are going to have a huge difference in the sound levels between the normal and soft.
the picture and price was great but those are the only pro's.my tv has had 3 issues, first it would change volume on commercials and also vary from channel to channel, then it would randomly shut off. i put up with these issues for about a month then called vizio for answers/help. they sent me a firmware update in mail for free which solved both problems. Now the volume will randomly get a "choppy interuption" then go out completely. contacted vizio again all they could do for me was give me repair company numbers. my tv is now 2.5 yrs old i did not buy the extra warranty,so it will now cost me to get it fixed. i will not buy another vizio. product, maybe mine was just a lemon but still not happy because of the 3 things that have gone wrong with it.
