Vitamix 3600 Plus Blender

I've always wanted a Vitamix but didn't want to spend a fortune. I chose the 3600 model because it has the stainless steel container and spigot. I love the one that I got on ebay. The price was great. My only complaint is that it didn't come with a book but that's O.K. because I'll just get one on ebay. I'm also bidding on a new gasket for the lid because the one that is on it is worn and has little cracks in it. What I've found though is that all of the replacement parts that I might need are available on ebay. If you are wanting to make a one-time purchase of a blender buy a Vitamix; it will last for your lifetime and probably your childrens and grandchildrens too.

This appliance is awesome. I wish I had bought it years ago. It is everything as advertised. It can replace most appliances, like bread machine, blender, food processer, coffee grinder, mixer. It uses minimum space and is easy to operate. I like the stainless steel container with spigot. I have made smoothies, ground coffee, chopped foods, bread dough. This is the best purchase I have made.

I love the Vitamix! It is powerful, grinds grains, makes juices with the pulp in -- I've even used it to grind table scraps to pour onto the compost pile. It is great with icy drinks. Its great functionality outweighs the noise of its powerful motor. It is not the machine for little things, like to chop chives or baby food. It is heavy and best left on the counter all the time. It's reversing motor makes clean-up a breeze. I bought this one to give as a gift to my cousin who loves simple and natural foods, too. I bought mine in 1970 and it still works perfectly.

I like shopping on EBay becuase it is safe. I got a terrific price on an older Vitamix missing parts. However, I had a broken Vitamix to cannabalize for replacement parts. Since the older models do every thing I need, I could not see paying $500 for a new model. I esp. like the stainless steel canister. I was told the unit was in excellent condition. Well, it was, mechanically. However, I am pretty disgusted about the time I had to spend cleaning up the small kitchen appliances I have bought on EBay. Many people live pretty filthy and apparently do not have soap and water at their houses. Any way, for the price, I suppose my time was worth it. So, I would not buy any thing that cannot be well-scrubbed.

This is my second Vitamix. The 1st one still works, (bought in the early 80's) but my daughter used it so much the spigot and action dome were trashed. I found another, and just love it. Believe it or not, I keep the container in my sink and all veggie scraps go into it, then we grind them up fine and dump them on the garden. No more chunks of stuff in my compost pile. We also use it about every day for cooking, something always needs to be chopped, blended, or whipped. I have 2 containers for my Vitamix and that also has been a wonderful addition to our kitchen. I just love my Vitamix!!!
