I bought this to read ebooks, play some games, and check e-mail or facebook.
Like: The screen looks good, easy to use touchscreen and OS(can update firmware to Android 2.2). Comes with Kindle, Kobo, facebook, youtube, email, and web browser apps. Can browse internet well using wifi but most print is small and must zoom in frequently. Good basic tablet. Does play mp3 sound and avi movie formats. Movies work good for plane trips.
Dislike: Does not handle most games or apps as it is very low on processing power. Very heavy and cannot hold for long periods while reading. touchscreen is good, but some things are too small to easily select them with my finger. Frequently accidently touch the screen or the three buttons "hidden" on the black boarder for "home", "settings", and "back". (very annoying) No access to the Android App store. Can use GetJar, or Amazon App, or Soc.io to get apps, but not many higher end apps work.
For the price it does what it says. It will run some android apps, but not most of the ones you probably want to run. (Angry Birds, Netflix, and Skype will not work) This tablet does NOT have a camera.
If you want a color screen e-reader that has some basic tablet functions, this will work for less than half the price of other tablets. If you need speed or have to have the best quality, you may have to spend twice the price to make yourself happy.
It does have stereo speakers, an HDMI output, earbud plug, and usb port (for charging & data transfer).
Check micro cruz website for a list of apps that will work on the tablet (with android 2.2 installed). Select "Support" at the top of the page. Then in "Online Support" there is a topic listing "What apps are compatible with the Cruz Tablet".
For me it is great. It does what I want for a low price. But if you are looking for the "fancy" apps on big screen tablets, then be ready to pay a lot more.
The Cruz is okay for the money ($80 used). It is difficult to download books. You do have internet access wherever there is a hotspot. The manuals do not give specific information on downloads, it's trial and error. I wish the print could be made even larger. There is some glare in the sun. Like I said it's good for the money.
not having the play store kills this tablet I liked it but sold it not what I was looking for im getting the ice cream sandwichnow so it should b what im looking for
