Product Information
It came from space more than a millennium before.

Two tons of advanced technology, programmed only for destruction.

The five mightiest wizards of the land joined forces and drew away the power of the battle machine, dividing the power into five orbs and sealing the armor away from humanity.

Now, the Danek Empire has partially duplicated the fearsome mechanized technology, creating a deadly army of metal warriors programmed for world domination. The only hope for salvation is to find the legendary orbs and restore power to the armor that nearly destroyed the planet more than 1000 years before. Join Sandor as he begins a quest that will take him from the depths of Magmal Isle to the terrifying heights of Draktyr.Fight over 100 types of monsters, explore towns, and enjoy exciting CD animation scenes as you pursue the orbs that will activate the legendary armor of Vay. But, will the armor save your world, or destroy it forever?

As good today as it was 13 years ago!

Vay is one of those games that just never gets old. It's basically a traditional turn-based overhead rpg, but the game has an outstanding and gripping storyline that just hooks you from the start and doesn't let go until the credits roll. That or until you finally get tired of fighting the enormous amount of battles needed in order to level your characters up enough to make it through the game in one peice. Either way, it's a thrill ride while it lasts. As if the game itself weren't enough, you'll also find a beautiful CD-quality soundtrack complete with voice overs and cinemas to keep the plot rolling along. The high degree of difficulty and somewhat tedious leveling up might turn some gamers away, but if you like a good old-school rpg with a lengthy and challenging quest, then look no further. Vay is just as good today as it was 13 years ago and the game is worth owning a Sega CD system all by itself.

Vay - Sega CD

Created: 04/07/08
I decided to buy this game because I heard it was good and because I like the RPGs of Working Designs. Vay doesn't disappoint while it isn't too spectacular either. I haven't played that far, but the story is unfolding in an interesting way and I'm having fun playing it. There are some static cutscenes that resembles animation and some nice orchestral/disco music I enjoy. It is quite similar to Lunar actually, but the battle system is a little too simplistic and not well planned. If you have the Sega CD and like RPGs, I see no reason not to get it. Vay pass up when you can have much fun with an 0ld sk00l RPG for a very cheap price? Buy it at eBay and don't forget the map!

Nice classy game

This is a good clasic working designs game. It is a 2-d top down view much like Lunar(another working designs game). Lunar though is more fun by far. There are some anime cut-scenes that are cool and it has a really good intro.

Sometimes it's a bit tideous and there are parts that are really difficult.

If you liked Lunar or the early final fantasy games you'll like Vay.

Vay set the bar for all RPGs!

Created: 10/22/08
If you think back to the original Final Fantasies on the NES, the thing that sticks out is the great story lines. It was never about the graphics and animation, so people tolerated the cheesy character design, map layouts and battle scenarios.

Vay was the first RPG to put just as much emphasis on those neglected details as it did on its story line.

Resulting in an all-encompassing RPG experience unlike any of its predecessors!
