Bullion Coins have both a specific value based on the "SPOT" price of the metal and a "NUMISMATIC" value for the artistic appeal and condition of the coin. Buying One Troy Ounce US Silver Eagles has these advantages: ---
NATIONALISM: All Silver, Gold or Platinum coins minted in the USA contain only precious metal that has been mined in the USA. So every labor aspect about these are "MADE IN USA"...
SECURITY: Everyone who needs to save toward a secure retirement or educate their children should seriously be buying at least one US Silver Eagle per month or per week. At a cost of about $10 or less above "SPOT" price in today's market they cost less than a carton of cigarettes...
WEALTH: Unlike stocks and bonds, United States bullion coins are real money that offer portability and global liquidity...
INVESTORS LOSE MONEY. Too many people have lost their hard earned pensions because the people who administrated their portfolios made bad choices in the stock market. Any stock which is offered on the basis of oil, gold, agriculture, etc. still remains intangible because it is only a piece of paper which can perish in a fire or lose all of it's value anyway.
WEALTHY PEOPLE ARE PACKRATS. They accumulate. They can't even fill their garage to capacity with vehicles because of all the other things they have. They buy something, put it away and forget about it. And they keep doing that, over and over again. If you are young, say age 30 or younger and are reading this now... Good for you!!!! If you're older, so what. There's no better time than now to build your treasury.
SO... LET'S GET STARTED!!!!
I think the silver eagles are some of the best ways to invest and to start off a collection. Any type will do. I started with the less expensive one just to get an idea of what they looked like. Very nice design and the back well, it has America written all over it. Makes you have an sense of pride. You can't go wrong with a new silver eagle.
I got this as a gift for a loved one who is not a coin collector. The presentation case is nice enough and the 1 oz silver American Eagle coin is fine. Definitely worth the price I paid for it, even if silver did not appreciate. Overall, a good deal.
I buying Gold and Silver because the United States is under attack economically, they are making the paper dollar worthless. The gold in Fort Knox is gone. Gold and Silver is one thing the Govt. cannot control the price of.
I purchased the 2011 w mint proof coin .I have looked at this coin with a jewelers magnifying glass. I found no flaws or defects. I am not a professional coin collector or grader. This proof coin did come with a hard cover case. The Certificate of Authenticity gave a full description of the coin. This coin was not professionally graded.
