This radio is great for a 1st timer, or someone who has limited space to install. I have had one of these for over 5 years now, and it's still going fine. The trick to CB radio is not the radio itself, but the antenna system. ALL (legal) CB radios are limited to 4 watts of power, so this model packs as much power as a $150+ radio. There may be higher power, but illegal for CB, radios out there, but if you want to keep it legal and avoid the seizures and forefitures, stick with the legal power. Anyhow, this radio has all the features you need, squelch, volume and all 40 channels. Why waste money on different "noise reduction" features, I can hardly tell the difference! I highly recommend Uniden products and I love this radio!!!
This radio is a very good economy model. Coupled with a good antenna, it has excellent range and sounds good. I really like the illuminated digital screen as well as it's compact size. I removed the ashtray from the dash of my Ford ranger and it fit inside quite nicely. I didn't even have to use any mounting brackets, just a couple of cardboard shims to further secure it. It fits well with my needs of having a CB for travel alerts and just listening in on some of the zaniest conversations. LOL. Like I said, it is a basic model with no bells and whistles. It is good for anyone wanting to try out the hobby without breaking the bank and it's small size creates dozens of concealable mounting options.
This is one of the most compact and enjoyable little cb radios that I have ever owned. It is compact reliable and it fits just about anywhere , in the house in the car or truck a very good little radio!

This radio has a small footprint. It fits my Jeeps perfectly i have a CJ7 and a Cherokee. great for that road emergency. It has a bright LED display. i get very good reception with it.
