    Movie synopsis

Danke the award-winning dachshund is about to have puppies, and her owner Fran Garrison (Suzanne Pleshette) couldn't be happier, as she dreams of a litter of champions. However, things get a little bit mixed up when the vet talks Fran's husband Jim (Dean Jones) into allowing Danke to nurse Brutus, an abandoned Great Dane puppy. Fran constantly makes fun of the ungainly dog, but Jim wants to keep him, and things get really out of control when Brutus begins to think that he's a little lapdog like Danke!

    Disney Hidden Hit

This movie is funny, sharp, witty--I don't know why it wasn't a bigger hit. Suzanne Pleshette and Dean Jones are a married childless couple--until their Dachshund has babies and they happen to adopt a Great Dane. The dogs do a great job keeping the action going. It has such a fun plot. It goes fast and doesn't lag. Kids love this movie too.

This move is charming, and certainly a"must see" for dog lovers. But, beyond that the story showcases acceptance of someone or something that might just be a little bit different from the "normal" specimens surrounding it. This makes the plot touching, and very sweet.

Bought this used, in excellent condition. This movie is about a Great Dane that thinks he's a dachshund because the wife owns 3 champion dachshunds. It is a very funny movie and my whole family enjoys it.
