Transformers: The Movie 20th Anniversary 2-Disc DVD
Created: 08/05/07
“Transformers: The Movie” (2006, DVD) 20th Anniversary 2-Disc Special Edition –
For any fan of the Transformers, this is the most impressive animated movie ever based on a popular cartoon show. Unlike other classic cartoons during its time such as G.I. Joe and Thundercats, the Transformers were a worldwide phenomenon that still resonates today in popular culture. The 1986 animated movie was the only one of its kind to be released worldwide in theaters and to have a star-studded voice cast from celebrities such as Judd Nelson, Robert Stack, Leonard Nimoy and even Orson Welles (one of his last performances). The movie also featured a fantastic soundtrack featuring 80’s rock and heavy metal artists such as Lion and Stan Bush.
The original purpose of the Transformers movie was to introduce the new generation of Transformers such as Ultra Magnus, Hot Rod and Galvatron by literally killing off many of the first generation Transformers including the controversial death of Optimus Prime, leader of the Autobots. The “passing of the torch” to the new generation however came with a price, while introducing a new cast of Transformers (and toys) for the cartoon show, it caused a major stir in many children (including myself at the age of 7 when it was released) who had grown to love the Transformers and especially their parents who reacted with a slew of complaints and angry letters to the producers of the movie for depicting such a tragic death of a beloved character. While the movie had a PG rating, audiences were also shocked by its use of strong language (which had previously been eliminated in older video releases) along with the intense violence in the film.
Although the movie was met with mixed reviews it would no doubt ensured Transformers’ longevity that would last for 20 years more with a multitude of spin-offs, toy lines and of course the 2007 live-action blockbuster movie from director Michael Bay. With 2-discs full of special features such as commentaries, trailers, featurettes, deleted/alternate footage, toy commercials, and even a DVD-ROM trivia game! The 2006 20th anniversary DVD is a must for any fan or collector!

MY DREAMED TRANSFORMERS MOVIE 20TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION.
Created: 05/06/08
ENGLISH REVIEW (REVISION EN INGLES):
The Transformers are sentient mechanical life forms, which adapt and alter their body forms into different kind of vehicles. A civilization that flourish in the planet Cybertron and divided in two sides: Heroic Autobots and Evil Decepticons. The Matrix of Leadership (Allspark) is what gives the TRANSFORMERS the spark of life, their very being.
This Movie, is an animated theatrical extension to the ’80s television show, where The Autobots must face their biggest threat ever: Unicron. An enormous planet that devours everything in it´s path. The Matrix of Leadership is the only thing that can destroy Unicron. The Movie also sets the path to show New Generation of transformers and with it the death of other beloved ones.
These DVD´s, not only offers a remastered and color-corrected picture but also a fantastic enhanced sounds. It also features 80´s soundtrack from rock and heavy metal artists such as Stan Bush. And like if it wasn´t enough, it brings a spectacular collection of bonus materials: extras, promotional trailers, exclusive commentaries and easter eggs hidden on both Discs.
The Transformers: The Movie (20th Anniversary Special Edition) 2006. Is absolutely worth buying because is not just another Entertainment DVD product by Sony BMG, but it´s a Commemorative Edition to the film that supported the most beloved children´s worldwide television shows of all time!.
Transformers....that actually die.

In 2005, years after series 2, the Decepticons rule Cybertron. The Autobots are limited to bases on Cybertron's moons and Autobot City on Earth. Optimus Prime is planning a massive assault on Cybertron, but Megatron has similar ideas, and launches an attack on Autobot City, nearly decimating the entire Autbot force before retreating. Of course, this being a movie, things get complicated: Unicron, the devourer of worlds turns up, and is heading for Cybertron. Now the Autobots have to reclaim a relic from the Decepticons while defending Cybertron from a giant transforming planet that eats other planets.
Simple, no? Couldn't follow that? Stop reading now, this movie is only for fans.
Essentially, this a feature-length toy commercial. The story is cool. After all, its about giant robots that transform into cars. Awesome. The movie just follows these robots along as they spend most of the 84-minutes fighting. All the new characters are introduced by having an established character say to the new character "Hey! (new guy) Blow up that thing!" or, "Hey! (new guy), attack those bad guys!". Awesome. I love movies where fights aren't disrupted by petty things such as plot details or character introductions, it makes things much more fun.
The animation is generally better than it was in the TV series. Add to that an 80s soundtrack, consisting of only 80s pop and hair-metal. Awesome. Of course, not everyone is going to like the soundtrack. In fact, I'm willing the bet that a majority of people would loathe the soundtrack, but that is not important, because the soundtrack is awesome. Plus there are some really cool quotes. Yay.
9/10 - Only for fans (of either Transformers or 80s music)

The definitive version of The classic 1986 movie
| Yes, I would recommend this product to a friend.

This is the Transformers as they were meant to be seen! Live action Transformers are flashy, but the movies just aren't as classic as the original 1986 movie! Between 80s-tastic music by the likes of Stan Bush and Spectre General (Kickaxe under a different name) amongst others, quotable dialogue (I've got better things to do tonight than die!), and enjoyable characters, this movie is a must-have for Transformers fans!
This 20th anniversary edition of the movie is the best you can get! It's not edited as far as I know (Yes it contains Spike's "word"), It contains both the widescreen that was shown in 80s theaters and the fullscreen it was originally animated in, completely remastered/color-corrected, and It's packaged beautifully to boot! All manner of special features accompany this, such as featurettes, old toy commercials (in these the kids' faces are blurred out for legal/privacy reasons), deleted scenes w/commentary, and a "Scramble City" featurette w/commentary (Transformers fans will know what Scramble City is. No, it is ONLY shown silent with commentary. Sorry fans!)
If you are a longtime Transformers fan, or are like myself and was introduced to Transformers through the live-action blockbusters, this is a must-see movie and this is the definitive release of the movie to get/see it!

Transformers The Movie (1987)
Created: 08/16/10
The best Transformers movie ever--yes, a lot better than Michael Bay's soulless films. This movie takes place between seasons 2 and 3 of the original Transformers (Generation 1) TV series. This series is the only one of the Transformers TV series that counts. Transformers (1987) has an outstanding voice cast and music score and is a must have for any true Transformers fan to compliment their G1 DVD set.
