Great movie for the whole family

After buying a Sony blue ray player we needed to get our first blue ray disc. Toy Story 2 came up for sale on e-bay and I could not resist. This is a great movie for the whole family. Beautiful picture plus we also got a bonus DVD we can take with us in our motor home this summer.

Every Toy for Himself!

After Pixar's first opus, a second Toy Story was hard to conceive. There were many traps in which usual Disney sequels felle into that spelled doom from the get-go... but this was to be no ordinary sequel and it was Pixar. And so, in 1999, the Toys were back in town with an equally if not better sequel (in yours truly's opinion, this is the case) than expected.

Unlike movies that simply get major characters back and keep the wheel turning, the Pixar guys (and gals) don't waste a moment and spin the audience back in high gear at MAC 5. In fact, you could do far worse than sit through this fast-paced funny and dramatic, action-packed tear-bringer of a film.

As for the Blu-ray, you can't go wrong with this special edition. You can easily put your DVDs to rest and take this one home and give it a spin. The image is as sharp and beautiful as it can get, the sound bursts through the speakers like crazy and the special features are quite a handful. In fact, you may end up learning a few new things about Pixar, the Toy Story characters and there's even a cute and well-deserved homage to the late great Joe Ranft (1960-2005).

Toy Story 2 has it all: amazing characters, superb storyline, impeccable voice acting and incredibly talented animators to bring this world to digital life. If you plan to buy for your kids or yourself, Toy Story 2 comes as a no-brainer, should you love animated films. And even if you don't, there's always a lot of film references here and there to keep your mind guessing long after the credits.

the second in trilogy of toy story, this movie was a great addition to the world of toys. Not only did the first one rock and make animation history but the addition of this sequel toy story 2 brought the characters back for newer kids, and memories for younger adults who grew up with the original toy story.

Probably one if the few movie that is just as good if not better than the first. A must for kids starring toys that go on a crazy adventure surrounding a strange toy collector and a cast of characters to accompany.

Worth the investment.

I think the quality of Blu Ray is overall better than regular DVD. I had this movie when I was a kid on VHS and burned out the tape I watched it so many times. I think the quality of Disney Pixar in HD is leaps and bounds ahead of the High Def curve.
