Very boring movie with famous actors

I`m glad I did not buy tickets in a theater for this one. Fortunately I paid for this DVD on ebay using my ebay bucks but could spend those for something else. Boring screenplay, nothing really happening here. A true movie to sleep through. For such a big money involved in production movie makers could really make something worth watching and not waist cameras and time of both actors and the audience. You want to see Venice go there or see movie Italian Job. The Tourist is not recommended to watch unless you want to get bored on the couch at your friends house for free.

Fun suspense movie to watch with some romance thrown in

I have to admit that I am a Depp head and see all of his movies but do not necessarily buy them all. What makes this one so great is that it is a fun romantic movie with lots of beautiful scenery, and I do not mean just Angelina Jolie , with lots of twists and turns, not to much band language or blood. Oh and did I mention it was an original idea and not a remake of some other film or comic book star.

5 star vacation to Venice for the price of a DVD!

I am aware that not all of the reviews have been good with this particular movie, but that did not stop me from enjoying the sites and views of Venice in all of its 5 star elegance. I mean, 'How else could I even come close to having a vacation like that?' So, if you did not enjoy the movie because there was: No chemistry, plot was predictable, or you just felt like she was driving that darn boat a little too fast for the tight canals then at least you'll have that to look forward to. Finally, I thought JD was credible and I, in fact, did enjoy the movie immensely, so much, that I had to buy the DVD. There you have it.

The Tourist (DVD, 2011)

This was a pretty lame movie with little plot and a bit of a hook at the end. In all, it was a whole lot about nothing. Johnny Depp plays Frank Tupelo, an American tourist on vacation from Wisconsin in Venice, Italy. Angelina Jolie is Elise, and she is being watched by British officials who want her ex-boyfriend for a lot of different reasons, but mostly for taxes. She is trying to meet up with her former boyfriend, Alexander Pierce, who is on the lamb from a gangster. It seems that Alexander was this guys money man and helped himself to somewhere around two billion pounds of this guy's money, then vanished. If he did rip off two billion pounds, he owes the Crown it's share, about L844M pounds in taxes! Elise gets a message from Alexander to take the train to Venice, and on the way pick out someone similar looking to him as a diversion for the police. She picked Frank Tupelo and that is how this movie started. In Venice she winds up taking Frank to her hotel, where thugs working for the gangster show up, and almost kill Frank. This develops into a constant three way chase, with the British chasing Elise, thinking that Frank was Alexander. As it turns out, Elise was a Government agent too, under cover. But she had fallen in love with Alexander, and now had mixed allegiances. The gangsters close in on her thinking that she will lead them to Alexander and the money. The British wind up shooting the Gangster and his men, and chasing someone else who they believe to be Alexander Pierce. Frank turns out to be Pierce, and leaves a check for the British for the taxes due. Now they have no other reason to chase him.

I love Angelina Jolie

Okay I won't lie. I'm biased, I bought it because of Angelina Jolie & Johnny Depp, love them both. Must have for any Johnny Depp or Jolie fan, especially the latter!
