Having tried a couple of the lesser expensive (cheap) 7 inch tablets available, I did what I should have done in the first place-spend the money and purchase a tablet developed by a name I trust.
The less expensive tablets have a screen resolution of 1024 x 600 (okay for web surfing, but not acceptable for games and movies). Also, the touch screens were not responsive and typing was not easy (had to touch above some of the letters rather than directly on them). AND battery life was abysmal.
The Thrive 7 inch has everything one would expect from Toshiba. The screen resolution is 1280 x 800 which is excellent for games and movies. The multi-touch screen is very responsive. More memory (16G) than I can use.
The tablet is well-constructed, easy to hold with the ridged, rubberized back. WiFi connects with no problems at different locations. Ambient light sensor makes for easy viewing in light or dark. The size is perfect for all applications and is easy to carry with you. And, surprise, an easy to understand quick start guide is provided (wasn't available with the cheaper tablets).
There are two minor negatives: the supplies USB cable is the only style that can be used for charging and data transfer-lose it and you have to purchase another from Toshiba, And there aren't many accessories available for the 7 inch tablet on the open market, but they can be purchased from Toshiba.
I've had the tablet for several months and have had no problems. Updates for the OS provided over WiFi a couple of times-they installed with no problems.
Well worth the money spent.
I'm enjoying it just as good as new. I have had no issues and it's everything that I expected. I would reccommend this to a friend. I haven't had any issues thus far.
I'm diggin' it so far. I love that it's a tablet that's a PC because of the ports (HDMI and USB). And I can watch movies and TV shows from my actual television via HDMI cable. I love it!!
I just bought the thrive and I really like it. I haven't explored all that it can do but I like what I see so far.
Well so far so good i like it very much i used it everyday or every chance i get i would buy again and again works fine the speed and everything else.
