|Perform tricks by maneuvering the gyroscopic movement of the controller while racing down steep terrain at breakneck speeds in Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam. Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam features over 90 racing events set in eight environments including Rio de Janeiro, San Francisco, Hong Kong, Edinburgh, Machu Picchu, and more. You can skate as Hawk, one of eight pre-made riders, or a boarder crafted from your own imagination using the "Create-a-Skater." Each existing character has his or her own special tricks, and although avatar attributes including jumping and combat cannot be upgraded, skateboard selection and unlocked skateboards can affect such skills as speed, turning, and balance. |
Skateboards come in all shapes, sizes, and attributes with a choice of current, old school "fishtails," long boards, and '70s skateboard models. Each of the events are focused on reaching the bottom of a hill as fast as possible while performing sweet tricks and avoiding obstacles like cars, pedestrians, and buildings. Environments feature a multitude of routes and hidden paths designed to create a unique downhill experience every time. By landing successful tricks you can max out your flame meter and trigger a speed blast useful for clearing certain chasms or overtaking an opponent. Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam includes four-person split-screen multiplayer options for all events. The PlayStation 2 version of the game includes four new single player events, three new multiplayer modes and three new playable characters that are not available on the DS or Wii versions.

I don't usually like sports games, but the Tony Hawk series has always been good. This game is no exception, I originally played this on a Wii which may be a bit better then the PS2, but it is still a fantastic game and my favorite Tony Hawk/Sports game.

I really like the way you can collect the trophies in levels. I like that the game has not only races but other things in it too. I bought this because I am a huge fan of the tony hawk games.
