A great GPS unit with built in mp3 & Audio Book players. Expandable memory

I've had the TomTom Go 930 for the past 3 years, and loved it. After it was stolen, I started shopping around, and discovered the 730. It has all the same features as the 930, with the exception of remote control (which I never used anyway),and the 730 only has 2GB internal memory, while the 930 has 4GB. This COULD be an issue for some users, as the maps and software use up almost all of the 2GB memory. If you're planning on using the built in mp3 player/FM transmitter (one of the best features of this unit), you will have to add an SD card to increase your storage capacity. And figuring out how to do that can be quite a challenge. While I generally am very pleased with TomTom products, their documentation/instructions/sup​port are probably the worst in the business. For example, there is NOTHING in any of their printed or online manuals that mention how to use the SD card to store music files and/or audio books. You just have to try to figure it out from the many knowledgeable and helpful blogs that are found on TomTom or GPS forums on the internet.

Overall, this is a great unit that will do what you need it to do. Battery life is a little sketchy, and the battery cannot be replaced by the user. Route accuracy was great when comparing the calculated route to a known route.

Those of you that are like me and really want the mpg player/audio book option will have to stick with the GO series, as TomTom is not adding that feature to their newer models.

A great value for your money!

I already have a TomTom 730 Go and i'm very satisfied about them. I used it for the whole loop of the USA from Florida to Canada, Oregon, California, New Mexico, Arizona, Texas, Tennessee, Louisiana, Alabama and back to Florida with a distance of 18.000 miles during our stay of 3 months.
So i would highly recommend this brand to everyone.

Good buy for the price point.

for the price it does it's job. The menu is cumbersome. When finding alternate routes it may take several attempts to find the one route that is best. It does not always find the fastest route. On the positive side, the voice commands are excellant. I would like to see a way to lock in the view somewhere between extremely close (1/2) mile to extremely far out. Being able to display a view of 3 to 4 miles would be good.

Way to go.. litterally

Having just purchased this item I find that it has far more capabilities than I first imagined for a GPS. This unit is simply amazing and with its clear and crisp screen, ease of navigating and its Bluetooth capability, I find I could not have asked for more in a GPS. Great job TomTom!!

Great product, good price. Love it.

This is my 4th GPS and 2nd TOM TOM.
I like this TOM TOM because it is easy to use, has good
features and this one takes a voice command besides the
touch screen operations. It is not the fanciest GPS outthere
but it is a good one.It features FM radio frequencies,
blue tooth connection, added memory card and it has a large
enough screen.
For as longe as I will drive a car that does not have a built
in GPS TOM TOM will be my only GPS instrument.
What more can I say about TOM TOM?
