Titleist Vokey Spin Milled Black Nickel 2009 Wedge Golf Club

Titleist has set the bar for the rest of the golfing community when it comes to wedges and this particular club is no exception. The balance, club head feel, and feedback are perfect. Titleist also makes an array of wedge sizes and finishes such as, loft, bounce, Spin Mill, No-Spin Mill, oil can, black nickel, chrome, etc.... If I had a complaint (and this is being very picky) it would be that these wedges, when new to mid-age, tend to chew balls up. Now thats a bad thing if your poor like me and dont want to pay $5-$6 a sleeve for ProV's. Although, its a good thing if you like seeing that ball land on the back of the green then backspin to the front of the green. There's something about walking passed your ball 10ft to fix a divot while your friends are chipping up because they landed on the green then rolled 20ft off. Bottom line Titleist makes a excellent wedge line up that will please anyone.

Best 56 degree sandwedge on the market. I'm a 10 handicap. I've bought Cleveland CG 15, 12, and 10s and Nike SV Tour 56. These look the best and the 56, 11 deg. bounce is probably the most versatile setting for any type of lie. The grooves allow you to be aggressive to the pin, where you can fly it and then get it to stop rather well. Even from the rough, the center of gravity on the wedge is so low it pops the ball out of cabbage and imparts some spin for some control (even though it is very hard to impart spin on a ball from rough). Club opens up well and gives you bounce when you need it, but nothing egregious. My chipping is much better because the leading edge is visible enough to clip the ball well and underneath the ball, but the 11 degrees of bounce is great so as to keep from skulling the ball if you pick up on it too quick and allows you to stay down on the chip or pitch. You can do so much with this wedge from many different lies. Your creativity will be rewarded. I bought everything else but this, and realize now, regretfully, that I bought all the wrong wedges. This wedge allows me to create shots from 105 yards and in with some precision.

If you are a golf "purist", then you either play Cleveland or Vokey wedges. I have played with both. I happen to like the Titleist Vokey design wedges better. Got these before the PGA groove regulations and talk about getting spin on the greens. I get so much spin on these, the ball backs up 3 feet consistently! I can make it spin back more with technique! Play these wedges and never look back! Come on, the Pros on tour use these wedges!!!

This club is fantastic. Low bounce is perfect for picking shots off a tight lie. This club delivers great spin, predicable distance and the experience you expect from a vokey wedge. 5/5 100% perfect.
