Thumbelina was a nice surprise that we stumbled upon on cable tv. The animation is fluid and enchanting and is reminiscent of the 1939 animated production of Gulliver's Travels. Thumbelina's character is voiced by Jodi Benson (voice of Ariel in the Little Mermaid.) She sings some lovely, lovely songs.
The story is sweet and engaging. A+ for this fluid, magical production.
This movie is a wonderful experience for the whole family. It features several beautiful musical scores that are very inspiring and beautiful. Children will find it enchanting and will want to sing along with every song. Barry Manilow has left his mark on each song. Of course, the movie centers around the power of true love. The perfect fairy tale.
I loved this movie when I was a little girl, and I still love it now! The songs are so good they stay with you long after you watch it.The frog scene is unforgettable. I also love the characters, even the villians have a way of capturing your heart. I haven't seen this movie in so long I had to buy it when I saw it. It reminds me of my childhood!
I just bought the movie Thumbelina and watched it after having not seen it for many years. It's a beautiful love story filled with adventure as the small girl meets many different creatures and makes a few friends on her way. It being one of my favorite movies, I recommend it if you like adventure and sweet love stories.
My four-year-old daughter absolutely loves this classic by Hans Christian Anderson! After renting it 10 times in the past year, we finally decided to buy it! My daughter often pretends to be a little fairy like Thumbelina! I think this movie really spurs the imagination...Besides, how can you not love such a classic?!?!
