Product description
Synopsis
In the grand storytelling style of Watership Down and Tailchaser's Song comes an epic tale of adventure and danger, of heroism against insurmountable odds, and of love and comradeship among extraordinary animals who must brave The Wild Road . . . Secure in a world of privilege and comfort, the kitten Tag is happy as a pampered house pet--until the dreams come. Dreams that pour into his safe, snug world from the wise old cat Majicou: hazy images of travel along the magical highways of the animals, of a mission, and of a terrible responsibility that will fall on young Tag. Armed with the cryptic message that he must bring the King and Queen of cats to Tintagel before the spring equinox, Tag ventures outside. Meanwhile, an evil human known only as the Alchemist doggedly hunts the Queen for his own ghastly ends. And if the Alchemist captures her, the world will never be safe again . . .

The Wild Road by Gabriel King (1998)

This is a story of Tag the cat. He is sent on a magical Quest on the "Wild Roads" to save the king and queen of cats. He is a very likable fellow who finishes his Quest in the sequel to The Wild Roads, "The Golden Cat". I saw this title while searching for another book and had to have it. The story keeps your interest as it switches from scene to scene, and all the characters that Tag meets work their way into your heart. To anyone who likes magic or cats I would highly recommend this book. Gabriel King is really two people who write very well together. If only they had written more "Tag" adventures.........

For the love of....cats!

I search for and purchased this book after first finding, purchasing and reading the second book of the series,"The Golden Cat"!Absolutely enjoyed it!An adventure you can really become absorbed into!Saddened as I came closer and closer to the end, just knowing it would soon be over!A definite must read for cat-lovers,but also for anyone who loves a good mythical, adventure read! The characters are so well defined they'll have you trying to decide which one is your favorite! The relationships they form along the way will both gladden and sadden you, just as all good books should! Not a children's book, either, deals with many serious adult issues of life!Wonderful adventure!Has you wondering how or if they'll be able to obtain their goal, their guest!Whom among them will survive? Will the evil win out over good? But I won't ruin it by telling you!You must read it for yourselves!
