My son and grand-daughter enjoyed this moving when it came out and we did own it, however, she lent it to someone and it didn't come back to us. This past Oct she became a mother and when we were going thru our Disney movies she remembered it was gone and she so wanted it again to one day share with John E.
She liked this continuation of the Aladin movie, though, I personally did not like the Genie as much in this one as in the original. Otherwise an okay movie.
She is pleased to have it back in our collection of VHS.
Receiving "The Return of Jafar" was a dream completion! I have loved Aladdin since I was a little girl however, I thought "King of Thieves" was the 2nd movie. This movie was a disappointment for 2 reasons.

- Different Animators
The reason I say it is more of an independent film is because of the language and mood of a few scenes. There is one scene in particular that stands out.
The Sultan asks Aladdin to be his Royal Vizier and Aladdin asks what the Royal Vizier does. The Sultan replies with "You will be my most trusted adviser." However he looks around before he says it, as if trying to think of something quick. Some of the movie sounds like someone took quotes from the first one and "copied and paste" so to speak.
However this movie shows how Jafar was defeated and Eago changes his heart. If one could get past the Average Animation (Compared to the first one) and the change of actors it is an enjoyable film for the whole family.
While this movie obviously is not as great as the first one, it isn't. i liked it for a disney sequel!
This VHS played great. My 3rd graders really enjoyed it. It is a true Disney classic. This is a movie that teachers and parents can trust with their students or kids.
Saw this on the Disney channel and my kids loved it so it's worth adding to our video collection. I love the animation and the songs are catchy and fun to listen to.
