Movie synopsis
Jim Henson's Muppets make their film debut in this charming story that chronicles their rise to fame. It all begins with Kermit the Frog sitting in a swamp singing and strumming a guitar. Realizing he can use his talent to "make people happy," Kermit decides to head for Hollywood. During his trip, Kermit meets fellow Muppets Fozzie the Bear, the Great Gonzo, Miss Piggy, and an odd assortment of others who join Kermit on his song-filled journey. But before Kermit and friends achieve their dreams of stardom, Kermit must confront the man who's been trying to catch him since he left the swamp--a man who sees Kermit as a potential meal ticket.THE MUPPET MOVIE is a lovingly made, touching story for kids of all ages as only Jim Henson could make it. The Rainbow Connection will save your life!

I purchased this DVD for my 4 year old daughter. I really am starting to relive my childhood and I decided to begin with Miss Piggy and Kermit. This movie begins with one of the sweetest songs ever, "The Rainbow Connection". This film contains no profanity, is not overly scary for little ones and is a great story. My daughter particularily enjoys when Animal "becomes a huge monster guy and saves everybody". This is the story that started the Muppet Movie onslaught and this is the best!

The Muppet Movie

Love the movie. brought back memories of seeing in the theaters. The Muppets are a classic comedy troup that more children should be exposed to. Even the adults can find their humor entertaining. I highly recommen this for the family, good clean comedy.

A Classic!

This movie is one of Jim Henson;s greatest works...a classic that should be in every family's library. Kermit's "Rainbow Connection" is the best.

Rainbow Connection The Lovers the Dreamers and ME!!

I bought this movie trying to introduce the Muppets to my daughter. She loves the Muppets now as much as I do. Since this purchase we have bought most of the Jim Henson Muppet movies. If your thinking of going down Memory Lane or introducing a new generation to the Muppets you cant go wrong with this one. It tells the story of how the Muppets all met and became the Overwhelming sensation that they were and still are!!

Great movie. So glad it was available & on DVD

Yes, I would recommend this product to a friend.

I fell in love with the Muppets when this movie originally came out. Now with the latest Muppet Movie I wanted my children to be able to see both. The fact that we can now get a lot of these movies on DVD is such a bonus. I went on eBay not knowing if it would even be available or not, so I was pleasantly surprised. AND very pleased that it didn't cost an arm and leg.
