Christopher Lee Rhyne Review 229

Created: 05/26/09
Book has a tale following nine inspiring spiritual principles. Author James Redfield, a mysterious manuscript, Peru, characters who will go through a series of adventures, involving dangerous experiences will ultimately find the truth and well being of a complex culture.

246 pages long, I rated 5*****, after reading this book you get another wisdom on people who connect like a chain of life. We all must connect at one point of time. A mystical experience has its values from one human to another, but a book like The Celestine Prophecy is worth a great read.

The book opens with these charaters; Charlene, Wayne Dobson, Wilson (Wil), Sarah, Professor Haines, Marjorie & Phil Stone. You'll read throughout book on how many characters will connect just like a chain as I mentioned earlier.

I don't want to give book away so easily but I really enjoyed book and highly recommend. The manuscript starts at the beginning of the book and ends at the ending of the book (this munuscript will change everyone who encounters).

The Celestine Prophecy

Created: 03/21/08
The Celestine Prophecy is one of my favorite classic spiritual fiction journeys. The book follows the personal growth of one man as he follows a mysterious query about an ancient manuscript. An old friend happens to drop by and tells him about an ancient Peruvian manuscript dating back to 600 BC. This relic tells of a shift in the mind thought of the world starting at the end of the 20th century. The key to this shift are nine insights that must be gained, understood, and integrated into the mind and lives of individuals.

Intrigued by the possibilities, the main character travels to Peru in hopes of finding out more about this mystery. With no real direction or plan, at each step he is helped along by coincidence and others following the same quest. Along the way, he also learns about himself, his connection to the universe, and his part in this evolutionary process.

This book changed the way I look at life!

Review For: The Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield (1994, Hardcover)
This is a book which changed my outlook on life. The author gives new ways of seeing the world set in an action/adventure story that keeps you interested. The characters and story are a good book in themselves but the real story is in the "insights". These "insights" are new ways of looking at the world around you and how you can interpret or understand how they work in your everyday life. I was not the most open person to these kinds of concepts; but considering the possibilities of even some of these ideas has only improved my life. I think that this is a great book as a simple adventure story but I recomend it for the real meaning that I feel the author was conveying.

GREAT Action/Suspense story!!

Review For: The Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield (1994, Hardcover)
A lot of people I know took this(great)book a little TOO seriously..I've heard it branded:"sacrilegious&quot; "occult"and other harshly accusatory words..But I personally took this book for WHAT it is:a fictional drama about an acient text with never-before-heard-of-views on life and its' underlying purpose!! As a devout born-again Christian, who KNOWS for a FACT,the actual meaning behind human existence,Istill was not particularly"disturbed&quot;or appalled at this fictional books accounts of invisible energy fields, and power struggles between individuals trying to acquire more energy by "taking"it from others!! Like I stated earlier,if taken for what it IS,this is an AMAZINGLY entertaining novel!! I could NOT put this book down(until I finished it)when I first read it back in 2000!! The copy I now own,is the replacement of my first one, after that one was labeled an"occult" book by my(narrow-minded)brother,and then(mindlessly)"thrown out"by my cousin!! Nevertheless, this book was so interesting and enthralling that I just HAD to experience(at the risk of being called a heretic)its'suspenseful splendor again!! All the drama involved in finding the various"Insights"that provided clues to lifes'meaning was WONDERFUL!! This is a MARVELOUS book that would probably make a FANTASTIC movie!! I HIGHLY reccommend this book to those with open-minds,imagination and anyone who simply enjoys an edge-of-your-seat thriller!!GREAT BOOK!!

Great Insights, Mediocre Book

Created: 02/03/10
Review For: The Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield (1994, Hardcover)
I have ambivalent feelings on this book - it has really good insights, excellent approaches on human relations and our place in the world/cosmos. Many of the points will resonate with readers, as we relate the "insights" to people or situations in our life. But then we have the book as a book - the protagonist goes through a series of "hairbreadth Harry" cliffhanger situations, which by comparison would put the average juvenile book in the "great works" category. But, if you will excuse the writing, the philosophy is very insightful.

And, I have purchased and passed along numerous copies of this book - so the philosophy really does outweigh the writing!
