Movie synopsis
Fraternal twins Conner (Flanery - SUICIDE KINGS) and Murphey (Reedus - GOSSIP) MacMannus are on a mission from God to rid Boston of crime. However, instead of signing up for the police force, these hard-drinking Irish-American brothers take the law into their own hands a la Charles Bronson in DEATH WISH. Heralded as saints by the city's beleaguered residents, the brothers also attract the attention of Paul Smecker (Dafoe - EXISTENZ), the openly gay FBI special agent assigned to investigate the spate of killings amongst the ranks of the Russian mafia. First-time director Duffy pulls out all the breaks in this inventive, action-packed thriller sure to please fans of HARD BOILED and RESERVOIR DOGS.

Vigilantism at its best!

Review For: The Boondock Saints (DVD, 2001)

If you're looking for great entertainment this movie won't leave you feeling cheated. Flanery and Reedus are the perfect actors for the lead roles in this film about Irish twins that become fed up with crime in the Boondocks. These two brothers receive what they believe to be their Godly calling and take you on a fast paced bloody ride of vigilantism. You find yourself rooting for and loving them while their doing it. Even the eccentric FBI man played by Defoe gets caught up in the magic of their unusual style of revenge. This is a true water cooler movie that leaves you hoping for the sequel! Its one of the best movies I've ever seen.

Loved it from the first time I watched it!

Review For: The Boondock Saints (DVD, 2001)

I was actually introduced to this movie by an ex, and he usually had horrible taste in movies, so I was a bit skeptical at first. However, I loved Boondock Saints from the first time I saw it! The cast is amazing; Willem Dafoe gives an awesome performance. This movie has some of the best comedy I've ever heard (the cat scene is hilarious!), and it is definitely not lacking in action. I suggest that almost everyone check this movie out...you won't be disappointed!

Good, but left too many questions...

For two brothers to be protective of one another is a good thing, but how could they get away with it while the police let it happen? The shooting scenes were good. Willem Dafoe, acting as a gay FBI profiler, was odd to watch not only as a profiler that can re-enact what they actually did, but also act as a gay guy in denial of being gay. The end of the movie was strange as well. An assassin that they encountered joins their side when he sees them praying a friend into heaven and realizes that they're doing this for good. The Boston police officers act in a vigilante manner, teaming up with the Saints in order to assassinate a mob boss. Then, after killing the mob boss in front of numerous people, they manage to get out of the courthouse (they don't show how) only to question whether they're going to have to keep killing sinners. It is a very good movie that I am happy to own, just curious as to what happens in between the gaps.

This is one of my favorite movies of all time!!!

Review For: The Boondock Saints (DVD, 2001)

I absolutely love this movie. Sean Patrick Flanery and Norman Reedus are so good in this movie, plus they have Irish accents so that's nice. Willem Dafoe is absolutely amazing, hilarious and perfect for his role as the FBI agent. I definitely recommend this movie. It has action and is very funny.

The Boondock Saints (DVD, 2001)

Review For: The Boondock Saints (DVD, 2001)

I liked this move a lot it was a very action pact move with an original plot. The movie is about two brothers who take the law into there own hands and hunt down all criminals. If you like action packed moves I am positive that you will not be disappointed when you watch it I know I was not when it was recommended to me.
