Best Driver on the market!
Created: 04/07/06
Got one of these when they were first introduced. I used to play a fade as my normal shot. Before this driver; I'd hit a lot of fairways but was only able to drive the ball about 235 yds. I went to the driving range and tried all the adjustments. WOW! You can move the weights around and totally change ball flight and trajectory. I set the weights for a slight draw and am now driving the ball consistently 265 yds. I gained 30 yards off the tee and now instead of being 190yds. out on a 425yd. par 4 hole, I'm only 160yds. out. So you can easily determine that now I'm hitting a 6 iron into the green instead of a 4 iron! This has brought my scores down and made the game a lot more fun! Another great feature of the R7 quad ht is the lower profile of this club vs. the deep face regular R7. You can actually hit this club off the deck to reach par 5's! Just play the ball about an inch or two ahead of your normal tee box position and be prepared to be amazed! If you keep your eyes open; this club can be purchased in good used condition on Ebay for around $175.00! You'll not find more bang-for-the-buck anywhere on earth! Go with the stiff shaft if your swing speed is above 100 mph. and the regular flex if below 100 mph.

TAYLOR MADE 3 Wood
r7 TP Fairway Woods
Shaft GRAPHITE FUJIKURA VISTA PRO 80
I had been looking for the right 3 wood to round out my set. Price was no object. The important features I needed were found in this club. I wanted a club head with a deep or tall enough face to hit off the tee with confidence. I did not want to sacrifice performance in the fairway by having a club head that is too oversized like Callaway. This club gives me the best of both worlds. The shaft was also very important. The standard offering on this TP model is just fine for my game which is a 6 handicap with 105 plus swing speed.
Now begins the disappointment. Although this club comes with a 2 port removable adjustable weight system, TM does not provide extra weights. They don't even provide the wrench to change the weights if you did have them. In speaking with TM they tell me that this club is marketed to the customers who currently have the R7 Driver, which comes with the wrench and replaceable weight kit. For $399 for a 3 wood I would hope that Manufacturer would provide all that is necessary to get the highest and best use out of the club. TM really screwed up here. In fact all their clubs except the driver with the weight system don't come with weights or a wrench. Oh well, I guess I can buy the wrench for $50 and additional weights for $18 each. What a rip off. I did however buy this club knowing full well of the weight situation. For me the performance out weighs the crappy marketing scheme.

Find Your Game with the R7 Quad HT Reg Flex

I'm 55 years old, weigh 185 pounds, average build. I typically drive 200 yards using a Big Bertha with a tendency to miss-hit on the toe and produce a nasty hook. I'm retiring Bertha now as the R7 is more consistent, straight and truly 25 yards longer. It's very hard to mis-hit as the sweet spot is wider. I have the R7 adjusted for lower trajectory, neutral, red weights front, yellow weights rear. Super pleased with the results. A spectator asked me about the club after watching me hit a dozen straight down the middle, 200 to 225 yards uphill into an on-shore breeze at the driving range. I'm surprised anyone was paying attention, but hey, this feather light club hits like a ton with a distinctive 400cc TI ring. This club is getting noticed because it works.

Excellent driver in every way! The combination of the Aldila NV shaft and the Taylormade adjustable weight driver head is superb. There's a reason why more than 50% of the pros use Aldila shafts and another why they use Taylormade drivers. I combined both in one outstanding golf club. Next stop, single digit handicap. Watch out Tiger.

I very much like the adjustable weights built into the club. The shallower face allows for shorter tee height and the ability for a low ball hitter to get it more easily elevated off the tee. The shaft is a little more flexible and also helps with getting the ball airborne. I've used the club and it really suits my game and sets up to my eye very good. I had Taylormade clubs in the past and have had very good results and quality has never been a concern.
