Movie synopsis
The beloved character written by Edgar Rice Burroughs comes to life in the Disney cartoon adaptation of "Tarzan." The "Tarzan" story follows the life of a man lost in the jungle as a child and raised by apes. Overall, this Disney cartoon version of the story carefully follows the original concept. Included in the DVD is the Disney movie "Tarzan" along with a number of special features. This DVD includes three different built-in games, a documentary on life in the jungle, a selection of deleted scenes, music videos, and an alternate beginning to the movie. "Tarzan" is an especially mastered version released by Disney using a visually stunning technology called deep canvas 3-D to give the film an almost 3-D feel although it is portrayed in 2-D. "Tarzan" is rated G. That means the movie is suitable for children ages three and up. That does not mean that adults will not enjoy the DVD as well.

Tarzan

This is one of the excellent Disney films with music by a rock artist. This includes the music of Phil Collins. There are several excellent songs, like "You'll Be In My Heart" and "Two Worlds", plus the very fun "Trashin' The Camp". Although no Tarzan movie has ever been made which is like the original Edgar Rice Burroughs books (I have read all of the Tarzan series of novels), this is a really fun version that has many emotional up and downs. The animation is unlike almost every other Disney movie with great motion and movement. I highly recommend it as one parents can watch with their children and both will be entertained.

Fantastic movie! Increditable price!

Tarzan is one of Disney best animated movie. We love this movie because the story is very original. The characters was perfectly characterized and the music was out of this world. This is one of my favorite Disney movie. Execellent movie.

This is NOT a 2-disc set dvd. But it is a great movie.

Yes, I would recommend this product to a friend.

I love Tarzan. In fact, it is my favorite Disney movie ever. I will always give it a positive review in all of its dvd versions. Nevertheless, I have to warn the readers this is NOT a 2-disc set dvd. The collector's edition is; the special edition isn't. This one has just some of the features of the collectors' edition. The only additional features of the special edition is a Stranger like Me video by Everlife (the song comes in the Disney Mania 3 album) and French language and subtitles (the subtitles don't come in the collector's edition). I give it 5 stars because of the movie itself, not exactly for the presentation.

Great Movie!!

I love that Tarzan shows you the inside and out of the jungle and english living throughout the whole movie its a heart warming story that will make you laugh cry and all around be happy!!

Lively and colorful adventure yarn

This dvd was requested by our favorite 3-year-old. After the jillionth showing, she still considers it one of her top favorites; so, we'll be seeing it again...and again. Fortunately, the rest of the family agrees that it is a well-done rendition of the jungle setting, characters and action scenes.
It's Disney-ized from the original legend, and therefore, it is what it is.
