The TP-Link TL-R860 is considered a small office and home office (SOHO) router. It contains one WAN port and eight LAN ports and works with cable or DSL broadband Internet connections. This TP-Link broadband router has parental controls and DDNS for security. In addition, data is transferred over an 802.1x router authentication. This 100 Mbps router is designed to fit easily into compact places, and wall mounting is also an option. Several features are packed into the TP-Link TL-R860, which include built-in NAT and DHCP, a built-in firewall, and support of Virtual Server, Special Application, and DMZ host. The specific routing protocol for this 100 Mbps router is static routing. Some of the technical details for this particular TP-Link broadband router include LED lights for connectivity confirmation, a preferred operating temperature range from 32 degrees F to 104 degrees F, a preferred operating humidity level of no more than 90 percent non-condensing humidity, and remote operation options. This TP-Link broadband router also offers Mac compatibility, easy CD-ROM set-up, and scheduled on/off settings, as well as use restriction by parents, network owners, or office managers.

    Simple installation with "wired" reliability

    Yes, I would recommend this product to a friend.

    one of the simplest computer items I’ve ever installed. Less than ten minutes (and that was taking my time) for complete setup, config and update. Works seamlessly with XP based PC and Laptop. Still has plenty of extra ports for web enabled TV, Games systems or other uses. All without the hassles and frequent drops of a wireless system. Wish I’d gone the “wired” route first.

    Yes, I would recommend this product to a friend.

    Have not had it long enough to really rate it. It seems to be working just fine. I give 4 out of 5 stars because I have not found anything that is perfect in life.
