If you have ever wondered if you have A.D.D., or just have the attention span of a mosquito, please do NOT use this movie to affirm it. This movie is the film equivalence of Valium. I found myself pausing the movie, finding something else to do, and going back to the movie all the while wondering "what's the point"?.
The movie is about Michael who cuts a deal with the court, through the help of his family lawyer, by signing a contract to this experimental drug company. The idea was that he will sue the company later for 2 million dollars, and of course escape the prospective boyfriends in jail had he gone there.
So he is shipped to the Straun House, helmed by the eccentric Dr. Straun. He is forced to admit that he has repressed anger when, says Michael, "Is it possible that my anger, being strapped here, having lost my two jobs, is a natural reaction under the circumstances?" Not verbatim, but I think that was the ONLY good line from the movie.
SPOILER: As it turns out, everyone in the funny farm is addicted to the OMG! THE NEON YELLOW medicine, even the doctor himself. And Michael and his lovergal doctor is determined to put an end in this craziness!!
The DVD case says, "it still happens today." OK, after this movie had left me in a vegetative state from utter boredom, I began to think, it's ridiculous that this stupidity still goes on today. Where? In Dr. Moreoux's Island? So Im speculating that this movie is about anti-psychotropic medications, and people's dependency on them. Eureka! What a poor, poor movie to convey their point, if that is what it is. But it's so lame, I couldnt care less.
I am a huge fan of Andrew Divoff which is why I bought this movie. I can honestly say this is the worst horror movie I have ever seen. The visual is awful as is the acting for all involved. I am glad I bought this on ebay for only a few dollars. Very disappointed in the story line was expecting something so much better.
