This was my second purchase of this franchise. Almost as good as season one. (if you don't have season one, get it.) Again, solid performance by the voice actors and equally good animation are there. There is an included art book as before and high quality packaging along with an excellent Blu-ray transfer. My only gripe is that there is less commentary on the episodes as in the first one, but this is a small gripe at best.
The Clone Wars just keeps getting better. The animation is amazing and the surround sound is killer. The Season 2 story line keeps you wanting to watch more. I sit down with my boys to watch an episode and watching one quickly turns into two then three. If it was not for my wife we would have watched all the episodes in one night. Looking forward to Star Wars Clone Wars Season 3 on Blu-ray.
There is one really amazing episode in this collection: "Landing at Point Rain". It's Saving Private Ryan meets Star Wars and the battle is more epic than anything in the actual movies.
Other strong episodes include the beautifully directed "The Deserter" and the cheesy fun Zillo Beast two-parter.
Beyond this, the rest of the episodes range from somewhat interesting to mediocre at best. There's some boring political episodes, the Mandalorians come across as weak and forgettable and this series will ruin your opinion of Boba Fett: every time you see him in the movies you won't be able to forget him as the whiny angst ridden child shown here.
Also, I don't recommend this series for children as there is a lot of intensely dark and violent content including kidnapping of children, bugs that go into people's brains through their noses and the graphic torture and execution of prisoners.
This series is good clean fun for the whole family. It gives you a more in depth look at the characters from the movies. It is a must for Star Wars fans and still entertaining for others. This is the same review I gave for season one. I found season two was of the same quality and as entertaining as season. one.
The series is a good addition to the star wars universe. Most of the episodes in season two are worth watching, but a few of them are a little to campy, with the "wonderful" lucas-esk script writing style. Deffinitly a worthy overall addition to star wars EU, and to any star wars collection.
