Movie synopsis
The war which began in the feature film STAR WARS: EPISODE II- ATTACK OF THE CLONES continues in this animated series directed by Genndy Tartakovsky. The separatists and the republic engage in a blowout fight, with Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, and Yoda defending the republic against the likes of Count Dooku, an alien bounty hunter, and many others. The program features a unique format that consists of many short segments ranging from two to three minutes in length. In each micro-episode, new characters join the ongoing battle of good against evil. This Emmy Award winning series has earned critical acclaim for its highly original visual style, which features characters rendered in an elongated manner that brings attention to the drawing process.

The Untold Stories of the Clone Wars

Review For: Star Wars - Clone Wars: Vol. 1 (DVD, 2005)

I love Star Wars. This is another piece to my collection. If you are like me, this is something you should have. It opens up a part of the mostly untold stories from the Clone Wars era of the Star Wars universe. The Clone Wars last from the end of Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones to the beginning of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. Yes, that's right; the Clone Wars are hardly depicted at all in the movies! So, that's where this series picks of the slack. This volume is, to me, a small morsel of the possible feast of possibilities. As you watch, you can tell that not even all the battles or even all the battles we DO see are shown. There are "snap shot" sequences of a few battles, but it mostly focuses on some of the campaigns that Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker fight in. It ends with a pre-Episode III glimpse at the prowess of General Grevious. There are plenty of action, including some awesome lightsaber displays. My only problem with the show: it was too short!!! It just wasn't enough for me. If you feel the same way after watching Star Wars-Clone Wars: Vol 1, then go look for Volume 2 where the action continues.
