Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Lightsaber Duels (Wii, 2008)

Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Lightsaber Duels is the second lightsaber combat game to come out for the Nintendo Wii (Force Unleashed being the first).

This lightsaber game follows the events of the Star Wars Clone Wars cartoon movie and series.

The graphics and game-play are nice, but a bit cartoonish. It was nice that Lucasarts put in background items like droids/clones shooting in the background so that you get some distractions during the battles.

The control wasn't bad. You swing your remote in patterns to get saber combo's in. However, I found that I could just swish around without much control and still beat my opponents quickly.

Gameplay wasn't bad but I finished the story/chapter mode in under two hours.

You can unlock multiple players and such as you play along also.

I'm giving this a 4/5 instead of a 5/5. The reason is that I found I didn't need much skill when I was swinging the remote, only that I needed to be faster then my opponent. :( It was a good workout though but the old elbow/wrist hurt after a while.

decent game at a fair price. kids love it. fun for all ages. lots of fighting action and lots of characters to choose from.

Good family action game. A little repetitive at times. Our 4 year old granddaughter loves the light sabers especially when they light up. This really does provide a great family fun time and keeps the family entertained.

I will start of by saying that I am a huge Star Wars fan. The thought of fighting with light sabers made me drool. This game is cool at first, but once you beat it in about 45 minutes, thats it. The two player mode is only fun for about two rounds, and then your bored of it. Its way to repetitive to be much fun. Another thing that bothered me was the fact that the Wii wont allow for a one to one motion for the light saber, in other words when you swing up the character swings up. It just doesnt work like that. You can just swing wildly and do as well as someone trying to pull of the special combo patterns. My advice is wait for the technology to catch up to the idea, then it will be worth YOUR MONEY!
