Soundstage Presents Steve Winwood (DVD, 2005)

Excellent quality DVD. Steve Winwood proves once again he is a major figure in Rock.From his early roots in groups Like Traffic and Blind Faith to an outstanding solo career, the music is original and profound. His voice is recognizable and unique. In this DVD you will see him not only as one of the greatest vocalists of all time but also the tremendous range of musicianship and porficiency on every instrument from the guitar to the madolin to keyboards. This soundstage concert is fantastic, he is backed up by great musicians and plays all the familiar tunes. Its the kind of DVD you can play over and over again. The only problem is that at 81 minutes it is still not long enough! I highly recommend this DVD to all Winwood fans and anyone who loves rock and roll.

Steve Winwood here goes way back in his days of Spencer Savis, Traffic, Blind Faith and his wonderful solo years and gives you a killer show. His band here is the GREATEST of his solo years.
Steve Winwood never got the high credits he should have got for his AAA plus work he has done in the life. Traffic is Steve Winwood, so when you hear him play the old tunes ( of course Chis Wood & Jim Capaldi will ALWAYS very much missed ) he still sounds like he did back in the 1960's. Still Winwood played ALL the lead guitar on all but one lp, not Dave Mason!
Buy this and if you get a chance to see him live you will freak. Hendrix said " Do you think Stevie winwood would ever play with me? " Yes he did! On Electric Ladyland " Voodoo chile " and on 4 other Jimi hendrix LPS.
That was Jimi Hendrix new band was going to be w/ steve Winwood, Jack Casady and Mitch Mitchell and Billy Cox!
Here you go he still sounds like he did when he was 15 years old in The Spencer Davis Group. Enjoy.
