Simple, slim in design and light in weight, it is definitely worth for its price.
The progressive scan video output and its 12bit 108MHZ video D/A converter, as well as its compatibility with multiple recorded DVD disks, makes it very practical. Specially for those budget mind buyers desiring to replace all those old vhr players in their home, connected to small to medium TV sets which in terms of their sizes and standard characteristics make HD Blue Ray expensive players useless.
Its price and good quality, makes also the Sony DVP-SR200P a smart option as a practical and usable gift.
Its operation is simple, and I could set it up very fast and easily to a small Sony TV I have in my studio. With this TV set, the DVD remote control also works great for both, the TV and the DVD player, and completely eliminates the need of two remote controls.
It also adds the possibility of parental control. The only drawback, if any, is that you have to open and close the deck manually from the DVD player itself for loading or unloading a disc, since the remote control does not provide this option.
In summary, the Sony DVP-SR200P is an excellent option and the price I paid for it at EBAY (around $30.00), makes it a very good investment for my money in my terms.
Needed an affordable but reliable DVD player so I looked for a Sony product because I have always had an excellent experience with them. The player is certainly not top of the line with all the bells and whistles but it is not shabby either. There are enough functions on it to keep me happy. The picture and sound are very good while the unit is surprisingly compact, light and streamlined. If there is a drawback I would have to say it is limited to one disc at a time. Once again another quality experience with a Sony product. Would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a reliable quality DVD player.
The Sony DVP-SR200P DVD Player was an excellent choice for our family for several reasons: compact size satisfies light weight and slim profile for a restricted area over our cable box; low power consumption produces less heat in that confined space and lower operating cost; brand name recognition of Sony product and performance characteristics satisfies my concern that my money is going to the best use for this entertainment product. Added to these advantages is the EBay customer trade satisfaction in procuring a "first class" product at such an affordable price over retail MSRP, and I'm a Happy Camper all around! This process of locating a satisfying product AND a satisfying procurement experience makes EBay the venue of choice for our entertainment expenditure in this tight economic time. This was a great EBay seller and a very successful purchase process; no doubt the reason for EBay's successes and bright future prospects for continued satisfied customers. Thanks, EBay!
I purchased this item to replace a DVP-NS575P. The DVP-SR200P has nearly the exact same inputs (it only lacks an S-Video input), which was very important to me as I have an older TV with composite RCA inputs, but I have a Sony A/V receiver (STR-DG510) that will take digital coaxial RCA input for sound. I was able to quickly reconnect everything according to my previous setup. This DVD player seems to be one of the last Sony models with this combination of outputs, however.
The DVP-SR200P is more compact than the DVP-NS575P. It supports all the same disc formats (especially some more obscure ones), but it does not feature a virtual surround sound module. I am also not certain if the remote control is compatible with the remote for my receiver the way the DVP-NS575P remote was.
I purchased this DVD player refurbished; it might be a model that's becoming obsolete (as more users move to HD televisons and HDMI connections). It suits my needs for now.
I like this cd player. It's basic, but that's exactly what I wanted. I bought it, based on good reviews on the net. It's working great for me. I mainly bought it to play video cd's I get from the library or wherever. It operates very smoothly. I bought it to replace an inexpensive koss cd player that I bought at radio shack 3 or 4 years ago. The koss cd player was not playing the cd's well. It was hard to start a cd playing most of the time with that koss product. I'm not buying anymore koss products. I have a pair of koss ear buds that are most uncomfortable and fall out of my ears all the time. I bought some bose ear buds and love them.
This sony cd player........i like it!!
