What a fine machine. I am very happy with it. It is quite portable, its controls are well placed, and the construction is high quality - standard for Sony products.

I bought this for my 4 year autistic son for when we fly to Disney this coming January. I like the fact that it has a long battery life and I can turn the screen around so he cannot play with the disc area of the player. What I disliked about the player is the headphones are the ones that go around the back of your neck and around your ears. For any other normal kid that would be fine, but for a kid that has certain sensitivities like my son does to textures, sounds, and light too much can be a bad thing. So I went out and bought soft cushioned sound reducing headphones for him. Huge difference in sound and comfort quality. The picture and the sound without the headphones is so much better the some of the other portable dvd players that I looked at. The screen size is perfect for any age. I watched it for a little while before giving it to him to see if I liked it. Really great machine.

Well, it IS a SONY... so it has high expectations, which it fully lives up to. Great sound quality, a 180 degree rotating screen and brilliant video. The 8 inch screen is ideal for the traveler and all of the cords, including A-V, makes it very versatile... not to mention the long-lasting battery and two headphone outputs. Whether it is DVDs or audio-books or music CDs... The SONY DVP-FX810 is outstanding!
