Awesome product and well worth the money!

This is an excellent blu-ray player. It is amazing the difference the 3d makes. I had purchased the sony bdp-bx37 first and was so impressed that I decided to buy the next step up. It is nice that it has wireless internet also. We enjoy watching movies off the internet and this makes it so easy!
Set up was easy. It was pretty much plug it in and go.I am not one to read a manual unless it is required. Another nice feature is that it is easy to update it. The player will tell you when an update is available. It is definitely worth the money. I would highly recommend it to others looking for a 3d blu-ray.

Sony Blu Ray

I needed a replacement DVD player and wanted to get Netflix capability. After looking at the options $50 for Neflix only player and $80 for a blu-ray, I settled on this. It plays normal DVD's just fine. I haven't created a Netflix account yet, but it allows you to watch Youtube and has basic DLNA support so I can view stuff on my linux box. The firmware updates are easy with the built-in WIFI adapter.

The downsides are that the DLNA doesn't work with all media servers and only the Canadian version has DIVX support. I would gladly pay extra directly to Sony for a DIVX/AVI firmware upgrade.

I would still buy this player because of the price and brand name.

WI FI rocks on SONY BLUE-RAY

I bought this item because I have the non WI-FI BDP-BX37, also a fine machine ,but no WI-Fi . A few years ago home networks and streaming video were rare , now essential . This machine <like its little brother> sets up flawlessly and fast . Almost a no paperwork needed issue. blue-ray quaility is far beyond dvd , even DVDs look better on this unit. Playback on the wireless network fantastic, NO glitches. I do have HIGH SPEED COMCAST internet. I have a good router that helps set-up with a push button . I am somewhat TECH savy ,so be aware that some knowlege of home networks is needed . I like the WI-FI option , no wires to hide or buy. If I found something wrong ,or lacking I would tell You . Sony has great products . There is SO MUCH content on the net , I doubt I will ever see it all . U tube is great on TV , much better than on My laptop .

This is the most awesome player I have seen or owned. This Sony Blu-ray player has 3D capability, wireless internet or wifi connect. It can stream Hd videos from netflix and other video outlets as well as Pandora Radio, Slacker Radio, and so much more. It is so easy to connect intially to your sytem and internet. I had a visio and it was a peice of junk. This Sony to me is the cutting edge of Blu-ray, 3D technology. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Great Bluray / Great price!

The BX57 sells in stores for as much as $299.00. You can buy it on E-Bay for as little as half of that or less! It has a WI-FI built in and connects to the internet VIA a wireless router. The "FREE" services that are offered are amazing. I haven't had time to explore them all yet, but I will soon. YouTube,Pandora, Slacker Radio,to mention a few. You can also stream your "Netflix" straight to your TV. I absolutely love this feature! The picture quality is amazing when you're in HD or playing a Bluray. The only fault I can find is the remote is not lighted. It makes it a little hard to find the button you need when watching TV with the lights off. Other than that, all I can say is BUY ONE!!! You'll love it!!!
