When I saw the video ad for this game I thought..Wow! Cool game. I read several reviews and decided to give it a try. It should be known that I rarely buy a game new. Almost always get one used from the net ot a game store. I got this game off Ebay and it arrived in better than discribed condition. Time to play and I was immediatly struck by the control setup, I mean it took me a a while to get used to the confusing setup. Once I got that I noticed that the graphic were pretty good. The scene was light enough to see details and the bad guys were easy to see. The tings I dont like is that there is almost no indoor fighting. And you cannot jump up on most things to get a better look. You cannot go around most buildings. It seems to want to keep you on a narrow path with no exploring possibilities. Another negitive to mw is it reminds me of a shooter game you might have gotten 4-5 years ago. Yuo can scan an area with a scope from a distance and see no one and move 3 yards and the bad guys are all over you. I can look at a tower 100 yards away and nothing the step forward beyond a box and get sniped. No very realistic to me. One thing that need to be known if you consider this for a younger player is that there is a ton of blood and gore in this game. Heads explode, legs and arms fly off and blood spews for more than a second or two. Also the language is a little harsh for a younger player. I am not a goody 2 shoes but the game would not loose players if the language was piped down a bit. Just not nessasary in my book. All in all, not a bad game but just to elementary in movement and options for me. On a scale grom 1-10 I give it a 6.
I got this game Brand new for 13 bucks, and I was expecting the worst from all the reviews and comments from this game. I mainly got it cause I wanted some overly gory and violent game for those sort of days when you just was to blow crap up! To start of with This game, it has a pathetic story line, not to mention a REALLY short story, I beat it in around 3-4 hours on the easiest settings. This game was actually just what I wanted. I went right in picked the weapons I wanted and went into war blowing legs and heads all over the place with more blood then you can ever imagine! The controls are a little awkward at first a lot of the settings are actually like COD 4 except for the crouch button which is down on the button pad. I'd say for 13 bucks get it, you'll get a good amount of enjoyment out of, but remember don't expect to be amazed about about an incredible story and insane voice acting and all that, because there ain't any! It's just a average blow the living crap out of everything thing until there's just a stump and a whole lot of blood. =D GET IT! I liked it!
While most people will say that this is a mediocre title, it's one of the few games I've enjoyed enough to play all the way through. You can go back and replay levels that you've already passed. With so many weapon options, the game changes each time you play even though the levels stay the same.
You get new weapons available at the start of each level. But, once you get a new weapon you can go back and play an earlier level with it. Each one handles differently and really affects how you play the game. While the structures aren't destructible, they look fantastic. Having been in 3rd world countries, I found myself staring at the screen in amazement at how authentic they made them look.
Chances are that if you played and liked the original Soldier of Fortune games on the PC, you'll like this game as well. I never followed the story of them, so I don't know if there's any correlation with the previous ones, but all the violence and dismemberment of the old games is there (and you can turn it off if you want to let your kids play). There is some chatter on the com with some woman that gives you intel while you're playing. Unexpectedly, it was funny.
mediocre is the only thing to be said about this game! graphics are subpar, controls are ridiculous, and game gets boring in a hurry! if you can get it for a few bucks it may be worth a try but i would not spend very much on it!
its a great game to play for a first person shooter, the first actual xbox 360 game i bought and i love it.
