I purchased a Herotab C8 several months ago in my search for a nice, compact media player. Unfortunately, that's not what I got. It was heavy, too big for my purposes, and the battery life was an hour, maybe two. But anyway, this isn't a review for the Herotab.
After my experience with the Herotab, I knew exactly what I was looking for: compact, convenient, sturdy and with a long-lasting battery (not to mention within my price range; this was the reason I opted out of buying an iOS device). I looked at a few different devices, and this one came to my attention. Under 100 dollars, runs Android, Wifi. I had my concerns regarding the resistive touchscreen, but I decided to give it a go.
I was not disappointed. Despite its size the processor speed is quite impressive, able to run a few apps at once. The touchscreen was nice and responsive, but takes some getting used to. The battery life is excellent. The body is sturdy and rubberized, and while it's not too heavy, has a good heft to it and doesn't feel flimsy. In short, it's a very good device, and easy to use.
Great battery life
Best resistive touchscreen I've used
No access to Android Market
The Skytex SX-SP430A is a very small pocket size tablet and is good for storing information, playing videos & music and playing some games. The unit does NOT connect (WIFI) to the INTERNET easily and DOES NOT stay connected for every long.
Overall, I would have to rate the unit as "BELOW AVERAGE"!
This product will exceed your expectations if you are hoping for a good media player. The battery life is not too good, with about 1-2 hours web browsing. The touch screen is resistive, meaning you would have to put some force to get the screen to corporate. It can download all android apps, but not all will be properly installed. With me, many did. The speakers are not too loud but is clear. mic is ok. Keep in mind when using this item, you r going to have to be a little tolerant, as you might experiance some problems. the youtube app that comes installed is slow but the youtube.com on the browser is amazingly fast on high quaility. It is not to reliable and you can sort of use it for buisness. Price is ok, as you can find many other tablets (unbranded mostly) for around the same price that may be better. Overall, i would recommended this prduct to someome without high expectations. One more thing, the browser isnt too slow it is actually ok- good for such a device. (The android ipod.)
I bought two of these devices for Christmas, one for my 10 year old daughter and one for my 14 year old son. My daughter wanted an Ipod and my son wanted a tablet. This fit both bills. The devices work great, the browsing speed is good, the app market is plentiful with lots of choices. We were able to download games that were suitable for my daughter and other apps that my 14 year old son likes. It is expandable with a micro sd card which works well when my son wants to move things from his phone to his Skytex tablet. The only downside is that the batteries need recharged everynight, but I don't know if that is because of the amount of use they get or if the batteries just don't hold charge that long. Overall, we are all very happy with this purchase. I plan on buying two more for Easter, one for my 17 year old son and one for my 2 year old son. They both are always taking off with the two Skytex tablets that we bought for the middle children. Anyway, I recommend these tablets for portability, functionality, and price. I would never spend 200+ dollars on an Ipod when you get a comparable product for less than half the price.
Perfect size but nothing else.
Worst product ever
Had to return to get wifi access fixed.
Could not get any new games added.
My daughter was so excited and this was a HUGE disappointment
