|Spyro the Dragon joins forces with a group of small creatures known collectively as "Skylanders" in this unusual combination of toy and game. The magical realm of Skylands has been guarded by the Skylanders throughout its history. Now an evil entity called Kaos has banished the Skylanders to Earth, turning them into figurines in the process. With your help, the Skylanders can reclaim their land by attacking Kaos and his horde of loyal minions. The character you control in the game is created from an action figure that connects to each platform through a "Portal of Power" docking system. |
Each toy can be brought into the game, earn experience, increase its level, and grow more proficient in combat over time. You can then bring the toy over to a friend's house and transfer your character into his or her game, regardless of platform. The toy itself stores the character data needed to participate in the action, which includes both two-player cooperative and competitive play. The game is played from a third-person perspective and features fast-paced ranged and melee combat, magic, treasure-hunting, puzzle-solving, and other surprises. A total of 32 characters are supported, three of which are included with each version of the game.

My son loves this game and actually has me hooked now! It has been somewhat of a challenge to find more characters since this game has become so popular since Christmas. I would definitely recommend this wii game and highly recommend that one needs to purchase any extra characters as soon as they find them at the stores! I have now won several multi-boxed characters online through ebay and have more bids still pending. But watch out!...as the character's levels increase so does the price. Some of the top pieces are selling for as much as $60 a piece!!!
Great game everybody in the house is playing it.
We have it on WII and we all take turns. I really like how you can change who you are playing, but all the toys are hard to fine.
Our 4 yr old grandson is so hooked on this. We can't find the figures fast enough so he can go to another area of the game. We've hunted on the net, gone to all the local stores - Walmart, Target, Game Stop, etc. and have had a challenge finding the characters. He has us hooked on the game now. I've learned more through the blogs and sites than I ever expected to know. Have a list in my purse that I update everytime we get a new character. We love it. It is amazing that such a young child is so good with this game. (His grandfather bought the same starter pack for our house too.) Can't wait to find the rest of the characters. That's fun too. We spend quality time together and he gets so excited when we find one.
Me and my son love that game. Every day after he go out of school we play and almost we are
Addict to Skylander. Since first time we play the game I can't stop playing.
Highly recommend. A+++++ rating game.
Bought this for my 8 yr old son. He loves the game and it is very cool that you can change characters just by adding & removing them from the portal. He completed the game quickly, but there is a good amount of replay with different characters and achievements.
We had a problem with the wireless receiver on our first unit which makes the game unplayable (seems to not be uncommon), and Activision will not honor warranty unless you have a receipt, so keep that in mind when deciding where to buy this.
Also keep in mind that the game comes with 3 characters, but that there are about 30 more that your kids will "NEED" at about $9 each.
Still its a novel idea and I hope there are future expansions to make the investment more cost effective.
