| Terri Schiavo's heart-wrenching plight captured the world's attention, opened medical, political and religious divisions, and started a debate on executive, legislative and judicial powers. America's most famous detective and New York Times bestselling author of Murder in Greenwich, Mark Fuhrman, tells her story. We all watched Terri Schiavo die. Her case dominated the headlines and talk shows, going all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court, the White House and the Vatican. The controversy lingers. In Silent Witness, Mark Fuhrman applies his crack detective skills to examine all available evidence, plus he interviews forensics experts, friends, family members and care-givers. Fuhrman will answer these questions: o What was Terri and Michael Schiavo's marriage really like? o What happened the day Terri collapsed? o What do her medical records reveal about her when she was first admitted to the hospital? o What does the autopsy say? o What was on Michael Schiavo's mind when he asked to withdraw life support to end his wife's life? Fuhrman has complete cooperation of Terri Schiavo's family, as well as their medical and legal advisors. With Silent Witness Mark Fuhrman will go beyond the legal aspects of the case and delve into the broader, human background of Terri Schivao's short, sad life. The legal issues and ethical questions provoked by Terri Schiavo's extraordinary case may never be resolved. But the facts about her marriage, her condition when she collapsed, and her eventual death fifteen years later, can be determined. We all watched Terri Schiavo die. The controversy around her case dominated the headlines and talk shows, going all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court, the White House, and the Vatican. And it's not over yet. Despite her death, the controversy lingers. In Silent Witness, former LAPD detective and New York Times bestselling author Mark Fuhrman applies his highly respected investigative skills to examine the medical evidence, legal case files, and police records. With the complete cooperation of Terri Schiavo's parents and siblings, as well as their medical and legal advisers, he conducts exclusive interviews with forensics experts and crucial witnesses, including friends, family members, and caregivers. Fuhrman's findings will answer these questions: What was Terri and Michael Schiavo's marriage really like? What happened the day Terri collapsed? What did Michael Schiavo do when he discovered Terri unconscious? How long did he wait before calling 911? What do medical records show about her condition when she was first admitted to the hospital? What will the autopsy say? The legal issues and ethical questions provoked by Terri Schiavo's extraordinary case may never be resolved. But the facts about her marriage, her condition when she collapsed, and her eventual death fifteen years later can be determined. I have absolutely no complaint with the seller of this book, but the book itself is terrible. The Terri Schiavo case was the tragic conflict between Terri's husband and her parents about whether to keep her indefinitely alive with life support. And it became very venemous between those factions. Mark Fuhrman, the disgraced cop from the O.J. case, has elected to whore for Terri's parents and does not even pretend to give a balanced or fair evaluation of the facts or the ethical and religious issues involved.
Mark Fuhrman put out the facts. A very sad unnecessary tragedy occured here. Who knows why Terri collapsed? Terri may not of been able to live a life that we consider full, but it was still her life and no one had the right to decide to take it away when Terri had nothing in writing stating her wishes.
Silent Witness is about the Terri Shiavo story. Fuhrman puts out the facts like he does with all his books and the conclusion is yours to find. For me, I believe I know what happened. You'll need o read the book to find out for yourself. I am an engineer and he writes in a way an engineer will appreciate.
I think this is a book for anyone to read who felt anything for this young, beautiful woman. It portrays what I believe she really went through. It tells you the facts. Maybe with this book we may be able to avoid others being in this situation. He wrote this book very well. It was interesting and informative. I plan to read more books that he has wrote when I get a chance.
