Dick Simmons was great as the Mountie that always got his man. it's amazing that this 1950's show was all dome in color when most people only had B&W television sets. Sgt Preston and his canine pal Yukon King always did the right thing setting a standard for the real RCMP that to this day they have to meet. The plots are simple, bad guys really bad, good guys really good as you would expect in a 24 minute show. This "Lone Ranger of the north" started on radio out of Detroit and fashioned a generation's view of what Canada was like. A half century after it's filming it can hold its own with any modern show of the same length - if it had been an hour show it could have been called CSI:Yukon.
